Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions
IainB replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't really want to rake over old ground as it's all been done to death elsewhere but... Jason Doyle & Rohan Tungate, and you can now probably add Claus Vissing and Celina Liebmann to that list now... and Jack Holder missing meetings And the Nico Covatti, Brady Kurtz, Tobias Musielak debacles And meeting cancellation rules... the list goes on -

They've been pretty much of a muchness until MPT's injuries in recent seasons -

Who are your "unavailable" riders, I've lost track tbh. MPT would be an adequate replacement for Klindt... especially when it starts to get cold again -

Lyon himself said on TV that they'd review the situation when MPT was fit to return, I don't know what the rules are but I'd hope he would... but the rules seem to have been abandoned long ago anyway -

No, @Bagpuss was talking about replacing "unavailable" riders, I believe Ben Basso is your Number 1 now Musielak has been "released". Beggars can't be choosers -

You would have thought... if history this season is anything to go by though it very much depends on what your name is rather than the circumstances. -

WORLD PRESS COVERAGE GB WINS SON
IainB replied to speedwaysliders's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The only way it would have made the press is if DJ Woffy had dropped a volley of F- Bombs at not being able to ride... but as the Team GB Captain has, as far as I'm aware, been completely silent on Team GB's victory the press couldn't even report on that! -

Mate, pull your dress up! That ain't rude... if you want rude head over to the Scunthorpe and Workington sections!! -
I think there were probably cheaper options than Pawlicki and Milik to tick boxes. Pawlicki and Milik both have/had genuine pedigree imo (much like Magic at Oxford), and if they both rode to their true full potential I reckon you'd probably be knocking on the door of top spot in the league... they did both come with massive question marks over whether they would produce their full potential though, Janowski has been more of a surprise (to me anyway), if they'd ridden to only half of their potential i think you'd be challenging for a pay off spot. I don't think anybody expected them to be as disastrous signings as they have been. Brum rolled the dice and it backfired on them spectacularly, I bet neither of them came cheap, so you could criticise Tolley for being naive at best, they did well to axe Milik, questions must still remain in what the hell Pawlicki is still doing there?

It'll be interesting to see if Becker can reproduce his SoN form on Thursday. -

I don't think it's a turns thing though is it? Isn't it whoever bids for it? Sweden haven't hosted SWC since 2012! Well Poland wasn't to host a competition they don't seem to be able to win? -

With BV more than likely sustaining a large financial loss, Poland and Denmark finishing nowhere, Australia being 12,000 miles away it'll be interesting to see where the SoN will be staged in 2025? Sweden? Germany? Saudi Arabia? -
I didn't think I'd be saying this at the start of the season but King's Lynn are actually worse than Birmingham, I didn't expect them to see the season out and who knows they may still not but they're just crap and you can question their team make up but they haven't had any riders walk out on them, there's no dodgy call offs, they're fulfilling their fixtures home and away. You can question the quality of their riders and management and the sanity of their owner but they're not bringing the sport into disrepute like King's Lynn are.
