  1. It's how you go about getting that wooden spoon though, it could go down to the last match of the season still being in with a chance of making the play offs... or you could secure it by June, at the moment it looks like the latter, surely the alarm bells must be ringing without the signing of a Number 1 yet, when all the other teams have their's and some have 2 number 1's. I can't imagine why the promotion would not have named him already unless there were serious issues around getting any of the riders in question. Apparently Zagar does not come cheap and he's certainly not a number 1 these days, you've got to be looking at the likes of Zmarzlik, Vaculik, Lindgren, Laguta, Madsen, Dudek... maybe Michelson or Thomson as an outside shout
  2. I do hope I'm wrong but for me Birmingham seem to be an NDL club, crowd wise, trying to run in the PL, they really need to make a big number 1 signing to convince the fans or it could be a very short season
  3. @the hobbit was being a bit naughty with his misquoting of Worrall, let's hope Sudden Sam can get Worrall's career back on track
  4. Steve Worrall could do well to listen to what Sam has to tell him and he may get back to the rider he was looking like he was going to be before he broke his leg. Sam has just about broken every bone in his body and came back to be World Champion. Worrall broke his leg and it's just about ended any prospect he had of ever becoming a world class rider. He's just a bang average journeyman now and comes across a bit like his brother at times.
  5. To be fair there's not a great deal a TM can do tactically these days, that's why a lot of teams have ex-riders these days for their technical/coaching abilities rather than being a tactical genius. That's not to say they can't make "strange" decisions now and again
  6. It's a shame that it looks like Sedgey won't be back. He was possibly the catalyst in our team last season with his partnership with Fricke. Probably not done himself any favors with his increased average, especially in a stronger league. I would have expected to have seen him at Brum next year, but they reckon none of this years team will be back
  7. Looking solid if not spectacular at the moment, the 8th man (as it were) at Leicester is the track, so if the can get a team of track specialists they'll always stand a good chance of a 2 legged victory imo
  8. Like I said could all be over by the 19th of August with 2 and a half months of the season still to go! Pretty much like last season... PL seems it's run just for TV at times and not the fans
  9. So, Leicester's home season could be over by August the 19th next year... smh
  10. https://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/92139-premiership-2024-confirmed-signings/&page=1 14.45 left Rumour is that it'll be Bartosz Zmarzlik & Mateusz Cierniak filling the last 2 places
  11. Sad to see Dave Darcy stand down... I'll admit I'm not sure at all what his input was to the club but he was always there during all of the comings and goings through the years and must have been a steadying influence
  12. But these aren't employees they're contractors, and with a combined limit there's no age discrimination. Maybe though instead of age you could add some weighting in taking into consideration laps/ matches ridden in various different leagues.
  13. Trying to win what though? You may have inadvertently stumbled on the solution here, it is a development league after all, why is it even a league? Just have individual matches, maybe in a series like in cricket. Perhaps the inability to satisfactorily complete the competitions last season was actually an example of how things should be?
  14. Maybe teams should be building to a combined age limit instead of averages? Or some kind of weighting introduced to the average to take into account experience?
  15. Another "big" signing thrown onto the scrap heap
  16. As I've said many times, I think what you offer represents great value for money and I will be signing up for a season pass once again. My post was not in anyway a criticism, more of an observation and I completely take on board what you are saying above as a business operator. I, on the other hand, am looking at it from the other side of the coin, a customer. We can swap statistics until the cows come home, you, quite rightly present the ppm number with percentage increases of 3.77% & 11.95%. But the price the punter pays out of their pocket has risen 37.5% & 19.6%... and I, personally, am happy to pay that. Like I say, just an observation... keep up the good work
  17. In Speedway audience terms... you're just a young babby!
  18. Think I preferred the old one, new one looks a bit 1990's, similar to Glasgow's but crapper... but they've got merch to sell I suppose. Tbh I thought the old logo of the Lion was very good indeed, wasn't so keen on the ye olde style font though from a few seasons back
  19. I get what you're saying and price per match I still think it's pretty good value but the packages I've compared are equivalent, CL pass and PL pass year on year.
  20. I still believe it's pretty good value, but the prices have gone up alarmingly: 2022: £152 2023: £209 +37.5% 2024: £250 +19.6%
