He'd be better off bringing Topinka over with him for a few meetings to get him settled in.
-
Incorrect, he qualified as of right because Lambert and Vaculik finished in top 6 of SGP
-
Kvech, a great signing imo, even better if he brings Topinka over with him. He'll be great at home imo... he's no mug, you don't qualify for the GP series if you're a mug

Covatti crashed in Argentina in Feb, came back for Plymouth at Poole on the 24th of May, rode in Slovenia, scoring 8 points, then missed the next Plymouth match "still struggling with a leg injury after attempting to return to track action"... sounds pretty much the same to me. If Plymouth have failed to get a medical certificate, that's fair enough I suppose. Kurtz had 2 certificates then? 1 for Oxford and then another one after he'd ridden in the qualifier? The SCB statement makes no mention of medical certificates.
-
You must be privy to more information than me then... all I've seen in the news is that he missed the away match at Oxford on the 23rd of May with "an ankle injury" (don't know where he picked that up from?), rode in the GP qualifier on the 25th at Zarnovica where he qualified, finishing all of his races then was absent for Belle Vue again. If he had a medical certificate for the Oxford match surely this would have expired with his appearance in the GP qualifier... or is it a blank certificate that he can use whenever he likes?
-
A statement and 28 day ban ain't going to hurt then... no consistency as usual.
-
Has anybody asked (or answered) the question why the SCB issued a statement and ban for Nico Covatti for riding on the continent and not for his club but there was silence for Brady Kurtz for doing exactly the same thing?

Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 5th June
IainB replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I went to Oxford on Monday and after heat 1 I thought, oh no! we're in for a night to forget, as there were traces of dust coming from the track... but the track staff kept on top of it all night with regular watering and it was a corker of a match with close racing and passing right up until heat 15. So it can be done -

It is funny how it keeps happening whenever the TV (BSN) cameras are in town though -

Great performance from Jason Edwards tonight, Redcar fell away as the groove appeared. -

Hold your horses Poole haters... it'll be "Sweet Caroline" soon, after heat 14... worth the admission money alone! -
Wasn't a fella called Josh Gudgeon doing something a few years back? https://davecgr.medium.com/its-frustrating-for-riders-like-me-because-there-s-nothing-in-place-for-us-91d2dfe23ae6

Whatever your views on the issue I don't think you can lay this one at the door of Brexit. Some Speedway riders have always needed visas to ride here and they always will. It's clear by reading the statement Birmingham put out that they've been gagged by the powers that be in disclosing what has actually happened. I think you need to be looking towards the Speedway administrators rather than behind the doors of No 10 Downing Street.

Hate to say I told you so... but, I told you so. Welcome to Leicester Zach Cook, the broth may be spoiled.

One for the stats boffins... has there been any other GP rider that has never been through the qualifying process?

Don't think he ever has, has he?

But if you look at last season, you'll see Lions came unstuck when against Ippo and Sheffield once they'd followed the Ippo model -

Not to mention a round 1 exit from the cup. It was a plan that failed last year... so surprised to see them do it again, especially as Sheffield & Ipswich showed the blue print last season and are proving it again this season. -

Unless they're going to bring in some top end fire power for 13 and 15 they may as well just leave things alone in the hope the riders can find some consistency. Against Oxford, really it was mission accomplished, win at home and claim the bonus away, which if done withh the majority of teams will get you into the play offs. Without the scoring power in 13 and 15 you'll soon be heading for a play off exit though. I don't know what the averages are but you'd maybe think hang on to Becker, as the potential is there, Masters must be worried though. -

Was just thinking this morning that it was the type of meeting that gets you hooked on Speedway... was a lovely night weather wise, healthy crowd, close score throughout, great racing and a narrow home victory in the last race. For Oxford, Tungate put in a true number 1's performance, Schroek is less than convincing as a team manager, making some bizarre decisions. The big question of the night was... is Magic back? He was still very slow out of the start but showed some remarkable commitment to be Oxford's match winner with a couple of world class rides in his last 2. Leicester, business as usual I'm afraid, Fricke and Masters blowing hot and cold, Dickson making a ruthless decision to replace Becker in only his 2nd ride. All in all, although we got pipped at the line, I drove home happy after an evening of top quality entertainment! -
