Sport England, who almost put a nail in the coffin of a return of Speedway to Brandon with the person they sent to testify at the Public Inquiry?

Somebody ought to let Glasgow know they've got the score wrong -

Why on earth Complin didn't come in there to replace Pijper is beyond me... I hope it doesn't come back to bite "us" in the final reckoning -

Ohhhhh noooo... this is a real shame -
That attitude of promotion is so short sighted, imagine if they had a list of legends that they could have promoted the meeting with and messages played over the PA from those that couldn't make it, it could have made a very large crowd massive! And at what cost? Little to nothing!
-
Yes, it's a turn of phrase. The general point I was making was that if you hold your meetings when people have time and find it easier to get to them, crowds will turn up
-
But traditionally they've always had their largest crowds on a Good Friday... not a school night
-
Or just parade them out on track for us all to show our appreciation, like they do at the Tennis (seemingly every year) with a parade of champions... better than a load of kids running around the track!
-
First of all I hope Puk is OK, i didn't hang around for the final as nobody really seemed bothered who won, there was no prize to ride for (?). As a "farewell" meeting what a p155 poor effort from the promotion, where were all the club legends? As David Howe, who was only there in his capacity as Dougy's spannerman, said he was hoping to catch up with, Sam Tesar, Hans Clausen & Ronni Pedersen etc. You have to assume that none of these ex riders were invited and Ully & Emil turned up under their own steam. Even the programme cover was a p155 take, of all the riders pictured only Ully was there! Buster was even on car park duty taking my final £1 in a final "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough" gesture? And his "thank you" speech was quite rightly greeted with silence! Of all the memories i have of the EoES through the years, there were absolutely none from last night and it will be quickly forgotten.

3 of the most well attended meetings I've been to this season have all been held on a Saturday night... just saying
-
Just not on it, the track is a shadow of the track it used to be, the only passing line is down the inside, that's not Bomber's line
-
This really is one of the tamest speedway meetings I've ever been to... the large crowd really deserved better!
-
I know what you mean... followed by the statement on the website about he doesn't care whether you come or not. But I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face. I'm just going to treat it for what it is, an end of season fixture filler
-
It's a pretty p155 poor line up for a "farewell" to a track meeting! I shall toddle along because I haven't seen any live Speedway in ages... but it sums everything up quite nicely, Panthers going out with a whimper

Listening to the Birmingham fans forum on the Speedway Tavern podcast I was almost walking around the streets of Leicester with my jaw dragging along the floor. First of all full credit to the Birmingham promotion for facing the fans in this way, I wish more would... But this Nigel Tolley guy sounds like a successful businessman, but as far as Speedway is concerned he sounds completely delusional. I think somebody needs to stage an intervention as he's in serious danger of "doing his money". It was just one thing after another, from the make up of the Brummies team at the start of this season to a possible option of moving to the Alexander Stadium just had me shaking my head in disbelief!

Most unsatisfactory for a final of all matches to be ridden in these conditions! I looked at the forecast as soon as the rescheduled match on Tuesday finished and rain was always going to be on the cards. Why they postpone the Ipswich leg but not the Sheffield leg with a similar forecast is strange to say the least... And then when it is decided to stage the match there seems to be zero flexibility from Eurosport as regards starting time and ad breaks etc. It's on situations like this when I really question the value that Tv coverage adds to our sport.

Ipswich v Sheffield play off final 1st leg

Yellow methanol... is that like yellow snow? Are you sure it was methanol? Maybe this Pink methanol is Dreamboat Phil's() "special" methanol he tries to peddle on the GP circuit... or was maybe taken from the recent "Ladies Day" at the NSS -

Personally I thought it was refreshing to hear a rider express an opinion in an interview rather than the bland nothingness that most riders come out with when asked inane questions about setup etc. I'll also extend that to Picko who is clearly very passionate about the clubs he rides for as demonstrated by his comments at Edinburgh recently -
Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23

Great comeback from the Tigers! Well deserved place in the final and probably have a better chance of beating Poole all things being equal track condition wise. But... what on earth was Cami Brown doing leaving Ace Pijper in for a 4th ride! I know there's been question marks over his team management in the past but that was absolutely unforgivable team management! Pijper spent most of the night on his arse while Complin was riding out of his skin to drag his team over the line. 'mon the Tiggers!
