  1. Morning! Bonus points if you can name the riders Could that be Paco Castanga, third from the left?
  2. Yup... never really reached the heights
  3. When you can be thrown out of a meeting for wearing the wrong suit it seems strange that there's no penalty for persistent safety offenders
  4. There's not really such a thing as an asset system anymore in this country as no club can really afford to buy riders and why would you as they can be stopped from riding for you by their Polish club. And nobody really knows anything about anything involving money in Speedway. What you'll likely find is clubs drip feeding out rider names during the close season just to keep some kind of media interest going, even if they're all signed and sealed
  5. It's got a Swindon look about it maybe That's a big lad on gate 2
  6. Riders showing their own sponsors has been a perennial issue, especially when the GP's first started with the front fork covers... also domestically Craig Cook was binned off by Peterborough because there were issues about his bike cover not conforming to the rest of the teams covers. Though in that case he was replaced by Rohan Tungate... who also had a non conforming bike cover!
  7. Cleveland Park... with views across the A66
  8. It was a good job it was an almost identical race suit he pulled out of his van and not his Scooby Doo onesy
  9. Statement in English: “This wasn't how last night was supposed to end. Even after hours have passed, I'm still shocked and bloody angry at what happened. “As you probably well know, I was disqualified from yesterday's Grand Prix in Vojens due to the mistakenly worn Kevlar I wore during qualifying. “This first unimaginable mistake in my life was that I wore my individual Kevlar which did not have the logo of the Championship Sponsor. “Several dozen minutes before the start of training, I took part in marketing campaigns, which ended shortly before qualifying. “Returning to the bus, I instinctively took Kevlar, which turned out to be the wrong one. Despite my mistake, I was allowed to practice by the competition referee. “No one reported any problems before, during or after qualifying (which of course doesn't excuse me). I had the proper kevlar ready for the competition. “I was informed about the decision of the jury chairman shortly before the competition, and unfortunately the appeal did not bring any results - I was ultimately not allowed to take part in the competition. “I am speechless because, as I said, such an inexplicable mistake happened to our Team for the first time in their lives. “I can assure you that we will make every effort to ensure that this never happens again. “Therefore, now I would like to sincerely apologize to all Sponsors, thousands of Fans who came to Denmark and those whom I let down.”
  10. We don't know that though do we? It's such a closed shop that those that are "in" don't have to compete against others around the world. First of all imo there's no way the SEC winner should get a spot just by the virtue that they're European. It's purely a commercial decision to allow this. Too many riders have been relying on wild card picks for too long. Maybe a limit on the number of wild cards any single rider can receive maybe in order?
  11. So the FIM have excluded Emil Sayfutdinov, Artem Laguta and now Bartosz Zmarzlik from world championship events... very soon they will be scratching around for sponsors, when they're fielding a SGP2 field
  12. I think it's more likely he's received a massive bung from Orlen rather than him wanting to win it in front of a half full Torun... if it was a deliberate action
  13. Great to see a Dane win the Danish GP, its quite a rare occurrence. Good job from Fred did what he needed to do when he needed to do it... But That has to have been the weakest GP field in the history of the event... EVER! My take on Bartekgate... rules is rules but I don't like to see sporting penalties for non sporting infringements
  14. It's not that live... has it started? Trying to find anything out about this event is like it was trying to find out about speedway in the 80's at least we had Ceefax back then
