He is... a bit too friendly compared to Mr Goatley for my liking. Edie is defending himself quite well though. I'm surprised that as they keep saying the 3g pitch would probably be funded by Sky Blues in the Community, nobody's mentioned that Covenrty City went into administation in 2013, the very argument they are using to argue against the viability of Speedway!
-
Thank God for Oxford is all I can say... a lot of the SCS evidence points to the success of the Oxford return!
-
Edie's so defensive he's almost giving his evidence from outside the room
-
I don't get why Edie's "opinion" can be provided as "evidence" surely the only "evidence" of whether Coventry Stadium was/is viable is the "fact" that it did not go into administration
-
Yup... you're on a roll

I've always said it was a £2.50 sport

It's amazing how quickly some fans turn on a rider... and their talisman as well Looking at his record around Foxhole, he pretty much rode to type Dan Bewley at Ipswich No. Points Total Thu Apr 13th 2023 Ipswich v Belle Vue (PRa) 1 2, 3, 1, 1, 1 8 Thu Jul 13th 2023 Ipswich v Belle Vue (PRb) 1 2, X, 2, 0 4 Thu May 20th 2021 Ipswich v Belle Vue (PRa) 3 2, 2, 2', 3, 1' 10 +2 Thu Jul 8th 2021 Ipswich v Belle Vue (PRb) 5 1', 3, 3, 0, 0 7 +1 Thu Apr 18th 2019 Ipswich v Belle Vue (PRa) 3 0, R, 0 0 Thu Jul 12th 2018 Ipswich v Workington (CP) 4 X, 1', 1, 1, 3, 0 6 +1 Thu May 4th 2017 Ipswich v Glasgow (CPa) 2 2, F, 1', 1, 1' 5 +2 Thu Aug 3rd 2017 Ipswich v Glasgow (CPb) 4 0, 1, 1', 3 5 +1 Thu May 19th 2016 Ipswich v Edinburgh (PL) 7 X, 0, 0, 2, 0 2 I agree with you about the standard of the BL, it's not as easy as some think, if you look through the Polish teams, yes some are very strong, but others are filled with Danny King types, riders who are pretty useful in their own country.

Correct! I'd forgotten what the old place looked like myself... the times I've been in that 1st turn building as well!

Nope

it's the only argument they've got isn't it really. prove the Stadium isn't viable but a 3g pitch is, this replacing the sporting facility
-
Yes that's what they've been trying to justify for the last 3 days... in place of the stadium as a sporting facility
-
To be fair they were trying to justify the need spectators yesterday although rather weakly. At the moment the council seem to have thrown us under the bus, their barrister sat there with what looked like his daughters laptop with childish stickers all over it calls a stuttering bumbling idot as a witness!
-
seems to me that if they want a 3g pitch so badly, just let them build one in the stadium car park... everyone's a winner!
-
Blimey, they're pulling the bloke from yesterday apart again... and he's not even there!
-
We all know the sport is on the brink and is on a downward trend, there's a whole forum dedicated to it here. Yes the sport is mismanaged, we all know that too, but a lot of the downturn is also due to tracks beings sold for development
-
At last somebody from their side appears as a witness... we'll see how good our boy is when he gets his chance to put this guy through the ringer
-
It almost broke out into A Few Good Men there... YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
-
Old Mr Ford was named as the prospective new promoter at Coventry should it re-open, make of that what you will
-
But like the chap said not every sport produces attendance figures, there's no legal requirement to do so
-
I can see the Craig Cook incident being brought up soon... they really are scraping the barrel
