  1. OK, fair point... I did just pluck my numbers out of the air, which I shouldn't have done and I do understand that they are the future of the sport. I just don't want to pay to watch them at the level they are currently at. It's a personal choice and that's what my gripe is, with matches against these clubs I do not have this choice. The only choice I have is to attend or not to attend. I'm not so sure that the cost thing stacks up as a reason though... What proportion of fans follow both teams I wonder? Serious question Added to that, there have been serious problems in recent years in getting double headers finished... especially with junior riders involved and R/R
  2. I take your point and understand where you're coming from but for every Thompson Twin or Dan Bewley there's 10 riders who will never make the grade, you only have to look at the team rosters from 5 or 6 years ago to see who have progressed. Looking at your info, it looks like you watch your Speedway at Belle Vue... which is a very different experience to watching a Double Header at Leicester... in fact have BV ever doubled up the Aces with the Colts?
  3. I'm pretty sure there are 7 days in a week and 7 riders in a Speedway team... damn! I've just given you the answer Yes I probably was harping on about it and I'll continue to harp on about it while this continues to happen. Leicester, Berwick, Plymouth & Edinburgh seem to have made an arrangement between themselves that they'll run double headers when they meet each other. Well I'm not prepared to support this, it's my choice as it is my right to come on here to express it. I'm quite happy to pay £18 to watch the Lions in action, no interest in watching junior speedway at all. Leicester, in particular, have shown they are incapable of staging a double header within a 4 hour time frame and other clubs involved in this arrangement have also fallen foul of curfew limitations in the past... So I as a Leicester Lions fan have no alternative other than to pay an inflated price to watch my team in action 4 times during the season... I notice that Edinburgh and Plymouth are not forcing this on their fans for their home matches
  4. How many days are there in a week? I'll give you a clue... it's the same as the number of riders in a Speedway team... and a further clue, the answer is not 6
  5. That's the fella... he did seem to have a bit of an attitude, maybe believed his own hype, wasn't in the SGP2 qualifiers either
  6. How about just making it NOT a double header... And maybe fielding a full team... for a reasonable price?
  7. Whatever happened to that Danish wunderkid who debuted in the Ekstraliga when he was 16? Can't remember his name... seems to have dropped off the radar?
  8. I think Jason Doyle wasn't taking any of that either on Saturday night
  9. What shall we blame: Brexit? Covid? The War in Ukraine? The Queen's Jubilee?
  10. Never mind hook a duck and bouncy castles... Will there be enough medical cover in place for this match? You'd think the promotion would be in a rush to re-assure disgruntled fans, but no mention
  11. Sounds like I dodged a bullet there... will you be returning on Saturday?
  12. Come back to me in 5 years on those Never going to happen unless a rule is introduced to include protected "home grown" riders in your team. 15 heats drag on at Leicester, 30 take an eternity! And the Leicester track is not conducive to great junior racing
  13. Because there's almost no chance of any of the cubs riders making it into the senior team, let's face it the Thompsons are beyond the level of NDL racing these days and I'm not naive enough to think for one moment that if their points average didn't fit that one or both of them would be shown the door in favour of strengthening the team. How long have Berwick been running a junior team? Who has graduated into your senior team? Leon Flint? He seems to have a decent future in front of him, the jury is still very much out with Kyle Bickley. And if any of them do make it to a sufficient standard they'll be off to greener pastures as soon as there's an opportunity to make some serious money. Dan Bewley, Robert Lambert If you want to follow your junior team, fair enough, absolutely no problem with that what so ever, just don't expect us all to have that same interest and being forced to pay extra admission to not watch them
  14. It's not bad if you're interested in both matches... unfortunately I have zero interest in the 2nd match Ah... but we've got another double header next week as well!
  15. £22 is less than the equivalent fixture last year isn't it?
  16. Why is this fixture a double header every year though?
  17. Not strange at all, you must be looking for something when you go to the Speedway, or why bother?
