Leicester vs Plymouth 28 August 2021

Well, it's worded differently in the rule book no doubt, unsatisfactory start or first bend bunching, the ref has the facility to put "all four back"... it definitely was not unfair riding. -
I had a good look at the Leicester track for you during last night's extended interval... there's a hill in the middle of turns 1 and 2 it goes up and then down again before going up again to the entrance to the pits... then entering turn 3 it rises again at the end of the straight before dipping in the middle of turn 3 and rising again going into turn 4... seems like whoever built the track forgot their spirit level!

A decent match, close throughout until Plymouth ran out of steam, 3 riders scoring just 1 point between them was going to catch up with them... and some good racing too. Ruml looks like a good prospect, but why you'd keep Cook and/or Keleher over Jason Edwards is beyond me unless it's down to numbers. Also Keleher was massively unlucky to be discluded for "unfair riding" in heat 1 it was clearly an all 4 back. Was good to see Dan swoop by Crump, who, let's be honest is loooong past his use by date, but a good "name" scalp nonetheless. It's a shame Crumpy didn't come round to wave at the crowd after his race victories as I'm sure a lot of the crowd would have wanted to have shown their appreciation. And to put the cherry on the icing on top of the cake Richard Lawson even graced us with his presence in heat 15... although there were reports of a large lorry load of cash seen backing up to his van in the pits. -

Better than when Eastbourne and Leicester conspired to keep the absence of Ed Kennett a secret until 5 minutes before the parade the other week. Well done to the Plymouth promotion for being up front with their fans. According to the Leicester website and twitter feed Bjarne is still riding! -

Whoever it was that refused to come out for the nominated ride should have received a 1 match ban, all of them if needs be. The paying punter should not be the victim of riders disputes with their management! Tom Brennan managed to find his way onto the track, fair play to him. -

I wonder if Glasgow do own Lawson's contract whether they get loan fees from King's Lynn & Plymouth, if so it perhaps explains why doubling up/down has become so prolific -

Have they bought him outright then? I think Glasgow have Brennan -

We'll just wait for you to go bust trying to pay Lawson his wages and have the points back -
I did a season at BV while working up that way a year or two back and you're right it is a fantastic Speedway track, but... It doesn't react to rain water too well and becomes over grippy if it gets too much, refer to day one of the SoN/SWC a few years back gate and go heaven, day 2 was fantastic though. And I do like to go to the BHM meetings with a noon start... not seen a good one yet, I hope this Monday will be different.

Dunno... I'm just the guy (mug) that pays £17 to watch 4 riders in a race every week -

Totally agree... not so straight forward when there is a shortage of riders though, nobody comes out of this mess too well -
Do the paramedics get travel expenses for going to the wrong stadium?
-
Surely you should replace them not when they become a certain age but when they become unsafe... seems like a terrible waste, what happens to the old ones? Perhaps they should be recycled into track covers
-
No problem... so it is self imposed by the speedway authorities then, that's all I was asking

Yes, you're right it was obviously Jason Edwards that they were paying too much that's why he had to go, but it was too late Eastbourne could never recover from his wage demands... mean while Lawson was sat in the pits refusing to take his rides because he couldn't afford to take to the track -
Yes, that's exactly right, it's just what I said in my post, I distinctly said all tracks should have unsafe air bag panels all the way around the track... smh So, by your logic they should be replaced with brand new ones for every match
-
Yes, I also take your point, there are 2 ways of looking at it. Lawson has already closed one club down this season with his wage demands and Plymouth already have Jason Crump and Bjarne Pedersen on their payroll. The club went bust only 5 years ago and found their level at NDL, now they're breaking the bank and probably won't even make the pay-offs (play offs)

I'll be going to watch the Speedway, not argue the toss over safety certificates, thank you very much. All I'm thinking is if it's a self imposed rule by the speedway authorities they're not doing themselves any favours by requiring a whole tracks worth of fencing panels to be changed in one go. It's like chucking a pair of socks away when when develops a hole in it.
