  1. Can somebody tell me the last time Cook rode at Cov, it's ridiculous!
  2. What a joke! Did the track get worse between 6pm and 7.45? The roads outside the excuse for a stadium were totally dry!
  3. and a whole lot of wasted time in trying to find a stream that eventually works was looking at this myself... does anybody know if you can mirror this from your mobile device to your TV... I know SkyGo blocks this feature
  4. anyone know where/if this is streamed, I'm away from home tomorrow night and would like to watch it on my phone/miracast. SkyGo doesn't allow miracast :-(
  5. For me you can tinker about with all the rules you want, I personally hate the double points rule but it hasn't stopped me going. 10 or so years ago you'd hear the promoters say "we know we've got a good product", I think it's finally dawning on some of them that they haven't. You can try and spin a match out as long as you like trying to fool punters into thinking they're getting value for money, the thing is we're not thick. All I want to see when I go is a good competitive match with some decent racing, not every race is going to be a corker but I believe the trouble at the moment is you're lucky if you see 2 good (and I mean really exciting) races from 15. Yes you can play with the rules to make matches closer thus meaning heats become more important in the context of the overall match, at the moment the sport is geared up for home wins (supposedly to keep the home punters happy), the team manager is totally trussed up in what he can do. I don't want to say things were always better in the olden days as speedway has progressed a lot since the 60's 70's & 80's, it's certainly a lot more colourful but take a look on you tube, there are a couple of interesting documentaries on there about John Davis and Ivan Mauger. You can see that what the sport has evolved into bears little resemblance to those days, the bikes are far too fast these days to produce decent racing (at most British tracks anyway), the bikes have outgrown British tracks, bikes in the old era were at top speed halfway down the straight, these days they're still accelerating into the bends. How you address this without some kind of worldwide reduction in power I don't know. But too often nowadays it's who gates blasts off into the distance never to be even challenged, then the same rider can reel off a number of wins and then look like a novice when they miss the gate and trail around at the back not even challenging
  6. 15 mins into the interval and we've just started song 2, unfortunately not the blur version
  7. 19:43 still waiting for first race, parade late, already banging on about what sounds like is going to be a massive interval, that nobody seems interested in
  8. With the published teams being relatively believable this week the only real question seems to be, will there be an hour and a half sun delay? With the current weather trend in these parts being a cloudy day and a cloudless evening, chances are there will be... shall we start at 9?
  9. Should I have to be Hercule Poirot to work out who may or may not turn up. Leicester website last updated 23rd Pool website last updated 22nd Unless theres been any late changes...
  10. Isn't there a 400 page thread for all this DW rubbish? More to the point today is that it's match day and confirmation of the line-ups seems to be a top secret again
  11. I think the point is they are not playing for those nations because the federation can't be bothered to muster a team up
  12. Question is when the Lions knew they had Brady Kurtz booked in as a guest the day before, then why couldn't they at least post this on their website? I assume it was in the hope that nobody would find out and therefore not turn up. But it's not very professional the paying punters not knowing who's riding at 19:15
  13. An Aussie for an Aussie... what's the problem?
  14. Not everybody! I've only just found out thanks to your post it was Wright! I was thinking blimey Boxall has gone right off... now I'm thinking, blimey Wright has gone right off! The man's a joke
  15. KL is probably now the most over rated track in the country, I have been going as a cov fan and a neutral for many years. Cov have not done that well there recently but the quality of racing has declined over the years, it's not been as good since the days of Henka and Loram. There were only 3 genuine passes last night, Bomber, Garrity and NKI. We too remarked on the poor crowd but it's hardly surprising when the meeting doesn't start until 40 mins after the advertised start time and then they still go on to have an interval. What is it about tracks and intervals? With the announcers always banging on about it as if that's the main attraction and what everybody has turned up for. As for cov, it can't be coincidence that they've been turned over in their last 2 matches by FL & PK scoring 15 & 13+1 and NKI & RS scoring 14 & 11 (should have been 12)... the heat leaders (No1) need to take a look at themselves, it's alright saying the heat formula is tough but when you keep coming second best... I think Hans Andersen still has a lot of convincing to do as Cov No1 especially after not turning up for the EL final last year.
  16. The ref did his best to try and spoil an otherwise entertaining match, I don't think I've seen anybody give such a inept performance! The man just couldn't or wouldn't make a decision, twice calling an all 4 back for incidents on the 2nd bend. Ran at a snails pace with no sense of urgency then to hit the 2 minute button in panic when the rain came, also having the mini interval when rain was starting, not the first time this has happened at Wolverhampton, it all led to a late finish and a journey home on a single lane of the M6
  17. Downside not being able to hear Yorkie's scripted patter? The whole sport is geared up for home wins, just take a look at the league table with only Cov and Poole having away wins before Wolves freak win at Arena last night. That's why it's not a proper sport... keeps the home punters happy though which is all promoter running a business is happy about I suppose I'm quick enough to slag the racing off at Cov, so I thought I'd say how good I thought it was last night with lots of passing and close racing, easily the best I've seen at Cov for the last couple of years or so
  18. Difficult to say with Cook as he never rides at Cov
  19. We probably saw more minutes of the tractor on the track than we did the bikes, perhaps this is where British Speedway is going wrong! They should be promoting it as a tractor showcase with bikes coming around in between to rough the surface up again so we can all see how good a job the tractor does... a different tractor each week perhaps? It may just get the farmers through the turnstiles...
  20. 2 turnstiles open for an Easter local derby. Seriously!
  21. Prices and fixture planning need looking at, look at last week for example: Fri: Cov vs Wolves - £18 Sun: Bombers Bash - £20 Mon: Wolves vs Cov - £18 Fri: Cov vs Leicester - £18 Sat: Leicester vs Cov - £17 There's £91 quid and that's before you've even got there! add in a prog, maybe something to eat and drink and you're looking at £150 for the week. You could have a week in Spain for that
  22. Happened right in front of us Ando gave Doyle a massive shove as he was trying to get over the top of him, all 4 back, just a hard 1st turn
