Swc Race-off And Final 2012 To Sweden!
BigFatDave replied to Zetters's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That's great news, Zetters - good to see they've picked a decent track for it. -
Racking my braincell to recall that, but I knew I'd seen him at Somerton Park sometime - thanks, Britmet. Incidentally when I saw the title of the thread my first thought was that he and Gromit had split up.
-
I don't think the actions were exaggerated at all: to me it seemed that Laguta drifted in front of him and deliberately slowed - Rory was more interested in keeping his nuts off the handlebars than anything else. Compared to some of the injuries he's suffered - AND ridden with - it's pretty much low field, but it's one of those ones where every time you move your hand you're immediately aware of it. Incidentally I busted a knuckle once (action replay clearly showed the other bloke striking my fist repeatedly with his chin) and the most painful part was hack-sawing one of me dusters off me swollen finger in the aisles of the local Hardware Store the next morning.

People will always have different opinions, comrade - you stick up for your mates, and I'll stick up for mine. PS You're up early - sleep well?
-
I beg to disagree, andi, maybe you should ask him yourself rather than telling us what you think he would do. Good to see someone with a clue posting on here; I'd suggest the armchair experts who support this sort of dangerous maneouvre may have never been within cooee of the saddle of a racing bike, or they'd never have made their statements.

Sleep Tight, Mr Bee. Obviously you won't need a sleep mask, the blinkers will do just as good a job.
-
In Speedway you turn LEFT, not RIGHT.
-
Try facing the screen when you watch it next time.

RF, if people such as yourself don't attend Speedway and even go so far as to boast about it, then where's the money going to come from to develop Juniors? No money = no developement of juniors; of course it's all to do with funding - there is no Magic Pudding. As far as I know ALL the Australians who've ridden for Poole have been fully trained and capable of winning at the top level, due to their lengthy apprenticeship as juniors in Oz, entirely financed by themselves and their parents and sponsors, so your gratuitous gibe doesn't hold any water, I'm afraid.

I enjoyed Leszno as a venue, great stadium, great ambience, but this year the racing was poor. What's your cure for that? -

Don't know which History Book you're reading, spook, at one stage we had four on the go - nobody replaced Wiltshire or Sullivan, Holder got in on his own merits, not on some quota system like the riders of a certain nation I could mention. -

IMG don't seem to agree with you, Mark - Gothenberg, if they manage to placate the Weather Gods, is a ripper, right in the middle of town, and I've heard no complaints about Terenzano from my mates who were there recently, far from it. -

It's not often we agree, Jacques, but in this instance - whythaforknot? Go You Good Thing! -

In the Under-16s 125cc Team Championship at Sidewinders in January Cam represented WA along with Blake Russell; Cam scored 16 from six outings. Blake 6 + 4 from 6 and WA finished 3rd on 22 behind NSW1 and VIC1 on 23. NB scores were 3, 2, 1, 0 unlike the PL pairs. Jack Holder scored a max for NSW1 but his partner Ben Cook only managed 5 + 1 while Max Fricke scored 14 + 1 and Jack Fallon 9 + 4 for VIC1, but that's about the only meeting Downunder where Team Riding is promoted, apart from a few QLD v NSW fixtures. Looking at those results it's easy to see that VIC1 were the best TEAM riding, although Jack won the race-off and title for NSW1 after Max suffered a Kummagutza. Next year's Under 16 championships are being held at Kurri Kurri in conjunction with the Senior Solos - should be a ripper Speedweek, January 12th - 15th - Come On Down! -

You probably wouldn't remember, being a young tacker, but Boxing was held pre-war at Somerton Park, with Welsh Champ George James successfully defending his title there on two occasions. I'm sure if Mainman was approached he could set up a couple of Heavyweight Clashes at Queensway Meadows; doubtless there'd be a few on the forum wanting to knock Wanna's block off. If it was Shadow Boxing we could see Wanna v Pinstripe, perhaps? Great to see Todd really kicking a few goals this season; he'll be looking at doubling up next year for sure. Jay looking solid middle-order as well. Might have been a different result if Cam hadn't withdrawn from the meeting after his Ht 11 Kummagutza; good to hear he's OK, although they do tend to bounce at that age. -

....plus it helps if the tapes go up evenly. -
Totally out of context, as you well know; just a pathetic attempt to have a pop - if that's your best effort you really should at least try to lift your game. While you're at it, could you have a go at improving your grammar? One misused apostrophe and one incomplete quotation tend to cheapen any point you may be trying to put across: either that or it's just another example of general sloppiness. Now run along back to the sandbox with your mates, there's a good chap.

Where do I say that, Cowdy? Just making things up as you go along, eh? That's the MO of a fair few people on this forum, alas, they never let the truth get in the way of their holier-than-thou rants. I find it interesting that my comments always seem to attract the interest of the Attention Seekers; they really should try to get out more.

I hope you enjoy yourself there - I prefer to think of it as the old trolls home.
-
Did I mention anyone's name? No. Did I call anyone a racist? No? Did I abuse anyone? No. Do I give a flying about what IO posts? Of course not; like most forward-thinking forum members, I've got the forum troll on 'Ignore', so I don't have to put up with any of it's twaddle. It's funny that a troll can take great delight in checking out some members' profiles in order to make pathetic comments about them, as IO has done with mine, but can't be bothered to check others' - I'd imagine most if not all of us knew that GW comes from Scandinavia: maybe some members need to do their due diligence before shooting their mouths off and accusing people of being drunk, but then I suppose that sort of professional attitude is sadly lacking on here lately. You'll notice I was replying to two members' postings, not to one egocentric megalomaniac who seems to think the world revolves around itself, and who when responding to imagined slight automatically takes umbrage and assumes the high moral ground, then starts showering bulldust and personal abuse in all directions - to paraphrase the bard; this excuse for a human being doth protest too much, methinks: maybe the comment may have struck a nerve and hit home, who knows - if the cap fits, etc, who cares? This is an open forum: every member is entitled to post whatever they like as long as it's within the rules: it's a bit rich when someone with a brief but all-encompassing history of trouble-making decides to appoint itself as forum conscience and tell people what to do and where to post, wouldn't you agree, Matt?
