  1. IMO I don't think most clubs are manipulating the averages i.e telling riders to lower their average.
  2. I think its to do with finances, clubs like Redcar, Scunny and Plymouth don't have the cash to pick and choose any rider they want so they have to take a gamble on riders, often these riders will not live up to their average. If these clubs can't then strengthen their teams they will struggle and that will lead to poor crowds and that could lead to dire consequences.
  3. People complain about the amount of guest riders so the BSPA can't win really.
  4. That has always been the problem with speedway. In this case though I don't think Scunny are trying to pull a fast one, they are going to sign Lyger which they could do regardless of Holubs average.
  5. Porsing would be a good rider, he scored paid 14 when Peterborough came to Scunny.
  6. Ty Proctor sounds desperate to get a ride, he said this today...... 'Still waiting for a club so I can begin my rebuild back in the UK. Ready anytime after May the 17' A proven 6 to 7 point man with experience of a lot of UK tracks.
  7. I agree, anybody new to the sport who would like to understand all the rules would certainly be put off. Some promotions don't bother to explain the oddities of the rules to the fans, probably fearing it would be too complicated and hard to explain.
  8. That's a positive outlook right there. Imo if Scunny are going to reach the play offs they will need to try and find a number 1, Lewis Bridger? Peter Karlsson? Andreas lyager is probably a 5 point man with 7 point average so I can't see us reaching the playoffs if he is the rider to come in. Anyone got an update on Holubs injury, will he be back for Somerset away?
  9. I thought Peter Karlsson would make a good signing when Holub got his new average, he hasn't currently got a Polish team. I am not sure Scunny can afford him but if we aren't winning at home crowds might drift away.
  10. Maybe Adam Ellis has a new engine this year, you see it all the time with riders getting a new engine and suddenly they are scoring a load of points.
  11. Why do you think the British final is 'shat'?
  12. What are the rules regarding guest riders, I thought it was only for number ones?
  13. After next Sunday Scunthorpe will have a 6.30 start time, so hopefully track prep shouldn't be a problem.
  14. Enjoyable first meeting, I noticed the race times were quite slow nothing below 59sec I don't think there was a lot of grip in the track compared to usual.
