More likely that the rules have changed, given the BSPL press release said that the Regs for NDL and NT woukd be the same. Also, on the NDL thread there was a query regarding people like Luke Harrison now being ineligible as he achieved a Championship average over 4 - the response being that he had been told he would be eligible

Until all the teams are declared it's not easy to judge. You could make the same comment about Scunthorpe and Workington, and probably others once all teams are in place. A number of the Oxford riders could well see substantial increases in their averages this year.

It's 'on the day' rather than 'on the gate'. Tickets still have to be bought online

Happy to be deluded. It's a start, not a destination
-
Views have been submitted throughout the year. It is possible that promoters have some interest in what was put forward- not all views are about the points limit
-
The Fans Voice reps were asked to submit the views collected during the year, and Phil Morris will be presenting that to the meeting. At least that is a start

Well, virtually all the rugby Premiership clubs for a start. Football https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68713522

Many, many sports clubs accross multiple sports are loss making, and only propped up by the owners. IIt's not exclusively a speedway thing

Stadium Admission Prices

I play cricket, so I am pro cricket - but, in that day's play ( which shouldn't take 7-8 hours unless you are including lunch and tea) for how long is the ball actually in play? 45 minutes? And a lot of that may not be 'entertainment '. County cricket is hardly awash with supporters attending county games. Value is a subjective judgement -
Absolutely. Watching the live stream it was apparent that sticking to policies and facts gained traction. Stunts like using schoolchildren to try to emotionally blackmail the Planning Committee are abhorrent and should have no place in such a meeting.

Reflecting on the result overnight it does seem to me that there is a pragmatic solution going forward, if AEPG wants to engage. (and of course, I don't know what the deal is between AEPG and the Agricultural Society) As things stand, AEPG can't get 650 houses built on the land that includes the stadium. I don't know what the profit margin per house is but let's assume that is a net potential loss of circa £50m. AEPG could offer to replace the proposed golf driving range at the southern end of the site, which as far as I can see is adjacent to commercial buildings and as far away as possible from its new build housing, with a replacement speedway track and associated buildings, with the proviso that the Council then approves the majority of the remaining new housing. That gives a solution whereby, albeit with a bit of compromise, all parties can claim a win. Of course, they could just bide their time and hope that eventually they get what they want.

I'm happy to take your word for it.

I think it made it abundantly clear, from the horses mouth, that Chapman made no attempt to change the situation or negotiate a solution. So when Chapman said that nothing could be done he didn't know that, because, according to Butterfield, he made no attempt to see if anything could be done

AEPG could work with the Council and the Speedway club to either revise the development a bit to build a new track on the outskirts of the development or on another site ( if one could be identified) and pay for it. If they did that they would almost certainly get permission for the remaining houses ( or most of them), comply with the Local Pan and NPPF and still make a significantly large sum of money. Everyone wins that way
-
Well done to the Save Peterborough team for putting up arguments to defeat the application for 650 houses on the track site. No doubt this will now go to appeal, but well done to the Chair of the Committee for saying, not directly in these words, that AEPG should have done more to comply with the Local Plan and NPPF to retain existing facilities. The war may not have been won, but at least the Save Peterborough team will be able to fight on. Well done
-
Well done to Councillors for identifying, and then officers confirming that, with a single entrance onto and off of the proposed development, then any emergency would cause gridlock
-
Mr Butterfield struggling to expand and answer questions on consultation. and anything else really!
-
Given that the first 2 speakers had no link to the last 2 it would have been sensible to have agreed 3 minutes each. Nothing was in place to stop the first chap speaking for 15 mins if he has wanted to
-
I do hope they go first when the other application is discussed. Now emotional blackmail, using children to speak in support of the application!
-
Was the bloke taking about roundabouts a plant to stop the speedway reps speaking?

Thanks. I'll switch to a different device
