  1. Why are people Counting out Russia for Friday? If G Laguta is back they will be right in it.
  2. Shame Manzares isn't back in UK, he looked decent for a season and a half.
  3. I understand people rushing to Tai's defense here and the arguments are correct. HOWEVER, still would have been very intersting to see what would have happened.
  4. Japan is a Market BSI should look into but sadly I feel they will stick to the "'Safe" options...
  5. Lets not focus on the negatives people, going to be a great SWC!
  6. Freddie is having a good season. He was unlucky in Cardiff, if he hadn't had taken that whack in heat 1 it could have been a very different night. He was actually leading Antonio down the back straight of the 1st attempt of heat 1. I personally hope he is allowed to see out the season, although I am a fan of Hampel and feel sorry for what the last year has been like for him. However it seems it benefits no one to give he and Freddie half a season each.
  7. Warsaw is a great GP but not that great of a city in all honesty. Torun is a Superb GP and a lot of fun. Cheap RyanAir flight away from London too..
  8. Just got back after a week in the UK. I thought this was as good as any meeting I've seen at Cardiff. Maybe enjoyed Bomber's win in 2007 more but as far as racing goes I thought this year was top drawer. As always the atmosphere was unrivaled. Warsaw was brilliant this year but still cant compete with Cardiff for all round atmosphere and entertainment. I understand why people ask about going to other stadiums, but for me Cardiff just ticks too many boxes to warrant a move.
  9. What about when the England Captain played in Spain (Beckham)
  10. Can we make 100 pages. Let's go guys. Never in the history of pointless arguments has one dragged on so long!!!!!
  11. Good luck Cookie hope you get through! How many qualify from this meeting is it 7? And is the GP Challenge in Sweden this year?
  12. Middlo had a great team for years and did nish with it. Nothing personal thats just a fact.
  13. Scotty's riding well and having seen a few EL & Swedish meetings on TV that he's been in, I'm impressed with how he's doing this season. At a guess it's Tai, Lambo, Bomber then between Scotty and Cookie for the last place. But hey what do I know..
  14. Gav & Rob get a room you're ruining (at least) 2 different threads now. there's direct messages if you have a problem with each other yiu need to sort out. Getting back on point, Danny King is just not good enough at world level. We need to pick the 4 best and most in form riders. If Bomber has a good meeting at Cardiff and his confidence is high I guess he has to be picked. I wouldn't have said that a pre Prague I'll hold my hands up to that. We have a genuine chance of causing an upset this year, hope to god we can do it. 1989 was too long ago!!!
  15. I'll ask one last time, should Tai be picked as one of the 4 best riders for team GB? (sorry)
  16. Great meeting, well done JD and Bomber, roll on Cardiff.
  17. Just for clarification everyone: YES THE WORLD CHAMPION SHOULD BE IN THE TEAM GB LINE UP (unless you like to come stone bonker last of course)
  18. After watching the 1990 world final as a 9 year old Todd was my first real Speedway hero. Such a shame that he had such a terrible injury so young. Also had some tough off track personal issues to deal with as well if memory serves me right. So all in all his 2nd coming really was something a bit special. I remember him getting a standing O on his last Cardiff appearance and boy did he deserve it. Rob, you're always a haven of knowledge on Oxford Speedway, enjoyed your great contribution to the Hans N thread. I very much look forward to reading this article.
  19. Read Bombers comments in the Star this week, hats off to him very honest no self pity. It has to be Woffy Lambert Cook but after that not so sure. I guess Scotty if he's in good form for the next month. It pssed me off he didnt ride for us for the last 5 years but he's still probably the best option. King is a great guy and rode well in the BF but he's never cut the mustard at world level and he's been given a fair few chances.
  20. I like Danny King a lot he's a good rider and a very nice bloke. However in his previous appearances at SWC he's been quite out of his depth. I think we need to look at last night as a unique meeting and not really as a yardstick as the weather conditions were a big factor.
  21. Come on now yes or no should Tai be picked for the world cup?
