  1. Bad luck on Danny , I must admit he wasn't my idea of a good 7 pointer but the injury was v nasty . Let's hope Matt bates gives it 100% coz there's an ok speedway rider in him with decent equipment
  2. Well done to cradley and hard luck to Eastbourne, sounded a good match Well done to cradley and hard luck to Eastbourne, sounded a good match
  3. good entertaining racing on a lovely track. kennett and nilsen just giving points away like confetti at a wedding cost lakers a point
  4. Reasonable match in tricky conditions, didn't like Warwick as a signing pre season ,waste of 7 points for me and he's not changed a bit from what I used to see years ago. The rest were a breath of fresh and most important very well managed mechanically, that will count for a lot in this league Pretty good attendance, a Sunday at 3-30 in Summer will bring in a really good attendance
  5. the track was fine, it was good for early season and 70mph winds, it was an ill conceived match to show with a putrid away team ( eastbournesque) that never do owt when its a fast racing strip. its about time these technical awkward tracks like lakeside thought more about away form that packing the side full of homers tbh.
  6. I hated going to the island for national league speedway as the track was way too big. I think I'm going to give eastbourne a whirl at nat league level. From my eyes the 2 reserves and Wilson dean will carry mason and Warwick . You can't help but be impressed with the way the younger dugards have gone about the new change, they are to be applauded for trying something new
  7. I gotta be fair with regard to signings , it's about as unappealing as it gets so far. Hope to god they got a couple of rabbits to pull out of the hat yet . Tricky building from no base but Owens the only signing I half like so far
  8. So far a big track rider who will be all at sea round a sharp track and an injury prone second string, at the same time the ideal no1 who rides the track well has signed for brum
  9. the iow wasnt big enough for him to get round, poor eastie will do 300 quid a week repairing the fence
  10. Effing and jeffing from nicki, gotta be fair that incident will happen ten times and 5 will go either way
  11. Popped along last night for my first bit of p l racing for 3 yrs. Ipswitch dogged it in really, after 7 races they got in a great position and just got steamrollered after. The home side were rattled but smashed ippo to bits from half way with Kurtz and c wright being involved in most of the damage. Ipswitch tried hard esp Hawkins, risager was total crap mind , Worral awful when he didn't lead , heeps was a bit unlucky. Enjoyable match and big crowd
  12. I'm no fan of nicki but that was a very very harsh decision
  13. That crash made me feel sick, Sheffield are just a team of gone/ injured riders sadly, hope Compton is somewhere near ok
  14. Terrific entertainment, a template for England on one day a week
  15. enjoyed the match, generally close and exciting with not a lap between the first and last like the other league ,only really going to be one winner but newcastle battled very gamely and not much went right for em, well prepared track, worth 15 quid let alone a fiver to watch that first class meeting.
  16. I'm pleased simota is doing well for the devils, I know it's a few years back but he was having a fair time of it in the top league for reading . I think he got a very bad injury at peterboro and you know what speedways like, it can take ages to recover the confidence. Good luck to him, well liked he was .
  17. What a terrible situation. I bought a tiny share a few years ago but tbh national league speedway on that massive track does nothing for me. At the end of the day the clubs been on a shoestring for a few years and unfortunately you can't run speedway on a couple of hundred customers some nights and keep afloat. As for who owns what faction of the club I haven't a clue but it seems a very tricky situation if things other than speedway aren't entailed in financial matters. God help em
  18. what a lot of complete twaddle you spout ffs. Let middlo manage eastbourne or plymouth on a budget and hed be in the khazi like the other managers.
  19. As a neutral I thought it was a pretty good match on a tricky surface. Witches have to feel happy with 12 lead as after 11 it was too close to call. Barker had a bad night but his first lap of ht 13 to let risager get away was terrific team thinking. Whilst Newcastle are a really good side I think 12 should be just enough for ipswitch unless the home reserves completely run riot on sunday
  20. I'm at Yarmouth up the coast and its windy with odd bits of drizzle. It looks like any rainfall should have gone by 4 ish. Any locals with a report later on would be helpful
  21. It all went wrong for the iow in ht 11 when a 3-3 turned into a 0-5 after Ellis shed a chain and the reserves bike caught fire, they completely collapsed after. The heathens will walk the league , well led , good reserve and top heatleaders. One thing tho, I thought this national league was for genuine up and comers ( of which it was great to see lots of youngsters on both sides last night) Do you really need the likes of boxhall (a capable prem league heatleader and an adequate elite league reserve ) poncing about in this league getting easy money rather than riding in a league that befits his talent?
  22. Despite being a commited team man sad to say we've seen the best of the bomber too . Top bloke but on the downgrade for me
  23. 3 riders tonight, all EL 2nd strings/3rd heatleaders. Woodward, bridger , barker, how can one ride efficiently to rack up a fair score and the other 2 seem to be riding at 110% but being pretty modest Is it a bit of an ego thing ?
  24. Glad that cook shows passion on and off the track. He's still young , still improving and will prob be a regular member of the gee bee side in years to come. Sadly the facts are that we don't have enough English talent in our so called top league to create a competitive 4 man side Writing this I think of the terrific lee rico who donned the British bib with such aplomb during his all too short life
