King's Lynn V Mildenhall (nl) - Saturday 11th August 2012
rhidassa replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
I believe so, true fen tigers fan, he certainly writes a page in the KL National League programmes, often with cheeky comments! -
I can't remember where, but I'd seen it advertised as a 6pm start, then assumed it was a 4.30pm then checked to find a 3pm start.. a bit too late. Not being a regular, I don't check these things weeks in advance, as it's rare I'll actually go. I wasn't referring to the weather delay, not a lot to be done about that. I'm speaking as a fan of speedway, that goes by all the various - the Speedway Star, BSPA, and what I see on social networking sites / the forums. Whilst it may not always be the promotions fault the confusion, I did see different times last week on Sunday when deciding last minute whether or not to attend, and of course the confusion on this thread.

I apologise, was hard to tell either way what the implication was. Can't really disagree with you there, if he chose to ride full time it is hard to get an opportunity to move up, after all, in Britain, a foreign rider must be better than a British one... after all, they're foreign

In fairness, I can see how bringing this forward would help. Dudley have some of the best travelling support of any NL clubs, and with the way this meeting is lining up and the tone of the press releases... Mildenhall seem to be losing out on a potentially bigger than normal crowd. Personally, I'm just glad I don't go to Mildenhall every week, after the start time confusion last week too, I'd be getting pretty frustrated about now.

The implication being what... he is British so wont concentrate on the sport? I don't know if things have changed but as I understood it Mark didn't want to return to riding speedway full time. A personal choice.

Unfortunately I'll be away this weekend, at a wedding. RSVP'd prior to the fixture change! -

If you get offered a PL spot when you're riding in the NL, you're not likely to turn it down if you want to progress your career. -
How many meetings have been postponed at home, to be re-arranged? I had a look on the site to check, but I don't think it's accurate, aka not including most meetings cancelled.

The day after Cardiff an invite-only Grasstrack meeting takes place in Lincolnshire, with 500cc solo grasstrack bikes and 1000cc sidecars. The top riders in both fields are invited from both the UK and international fields to put on a spectacular days racing. For any travelling I believe there is camping offered, with the GP on screen the Saturday night. Certainly proves to be a superb days racing. More information http://grasstrack.net/wainfleet-poachers-2012-12.html A few familiar names from speedway participating such as Theo Pjiper, Joe Screen and Danny Warwick. If you're in the area rather than at Cardiff - why not?

Typical Brit?

For the cost of a medal/trophy for first, second and third, I doubt it will make a grand difference. Even if it did, there's a simple solution - when getting a meeting sponsor, get a sponsor for the trophies/medals too. I'm sure its possible, especially as the sponsor could then have their name on the medal/trophy too...

Kings Lynn World Cup 9 July
rhidassa replied to steve19620's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I was working off the BSPA, which said 7.30pm, as I'd assumed. I've double checked on the SWC official site, and that says 19.30. I know gates open at 17.00 this year. -
I don't think that's a fair comment. You can turn up with equipment in fully working order, and a problem can emerge that wasn't there the week before. With any sort of machinery, motorbikes included, problems can develop at any time, of various different natures. Even in the elite league riders can have problems with equipment, Chris Harris being an example of that. I can't comment on individuals or problems, but it happens, at all levels, to all riders. Most riders look after their equipment well, and I know Danny looks after his bikes well - that isn't something he can be faulted on. It's just one of those things, I guess.

Kings Lynn World Cup 9 July

I would hope with a meeting of this scale, the track would be covered. The meeting has to be on, after all. -

Incredibly late on this, but try the main forum in future for line ups on grasstrack.net, Parsloes - they usually post them there, or if you post on there asking, you usually get an answer (possibly with a few sarcastic remarks / attempts at wit... much like on here!). -
Swc Kings Lynn - Admission
rhidassa replied to psycho3a's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Got to say I feel rather fortunate... being a local to King's Lynn I was able to buy my ticket after the meeting, thereby bypassing that nastily high postage fee. Bargain. And cheaper than your average meeting at King's Lynn, too! -
'Merit Points League'?

We had the foot passenger offer. Next year we may look at staying I think - I'll probably enjoy it even more if I'm not fresh off a horrible ferry ride! Hopefully, we'll be able to find someone to stay with or somewhere to camp.
