  1. A fair result on the night, Sheffield are a good team, especially at home. If Bears had a full team and all fully fit, it could have been closer, but doubt overall result would have been different. Still disappointed with the actual racing at Sheffield, to be fair it was better than my last visit, but as the updates often said XXX all over YYY but didn't pass! Barker and Garrity usually involved in the main action, and have to give praise and credit to Howarth, who always gave room to Garrity to race, I know of a number of others who would happily have "drifted" nearer the fence to block off. Other closed races were hall & Wright who had some excellent tussles ( but for third!)
  2. You couldn't fit Payne in he is 2.61 But as he is higher than Blacklock, I don't see that he has to make way when Blacklock fit - unless the Bandits want it
  3. Scunny changed their team before 1st May and although they utilised some riders averages dropping, the potential to review the others averages wasn't available to be used. Ipswich changed their team before any rider got a new average and kept below the 40 limit hence why their team was legal. You could argue that real averages could have been applied across the board for their team and I don't know if that would have taken them over the limit. However I think the rule is specifically aimed at a mixture of new averages and old averages. So other teams haven't done the same. I reiterate I'm not anti Berwick, but if a rule is there it should be applied.
  4. I don't think anyone is suggesting Berwick any doing something underhand The bottom line is that a rule has been introduced for the situation of a team having majority of riders getting their new average and then also having another rider who hasn't completed the required number ( for whatever reason ) and by using this old average redeclaring for a new 1-7. Whether the rule should be there is up for debate, but it is and therefore should be enforced!
  5. No reason why Berwick shouldn't redeclare their lineup, provided it is within the league rules. Don't get the "best interest of the sport" being let's ignore the rules we have in place to favour any specified team
  6. It not being changed it is being used to calculate the whole team, and my understanding of the rule is to stop teams (and I don't mean Berwick in this instance) having a rider miss a meeting so his average doesn't go up, when others come down and then make changes. It just so happens it applies to Berwick and as previous posts states, it allows an anomaly for Berwick to build to nearer 42. It all comes back to restarting the rolling averages and having new "real" ones after 4H 4A
  7. That is why there is little publicity about lineups any chance of a close meeting gone!
  8. Riss - yes BWD - yes Williamson - No the Gapp man - jury is out Nielsen - yes
  9. Don't know why should be different, but you have to go with official issued average which is 7.26
  10. Could fit Ayres in if we redeclared and dropped Busch - for example Garcia & Ayres would fit, Busch and ayres wouldn't I think the key is how realistic is a Busch return at some point this season, if it is doubtful them we really need to change now - especially as Garcia's 28 day spell ends next week. As with everyone I've been very impressed with everything the new promotion have done so far, but next week or so is probably their biggest test so far in how the club goes forward!
  11. Q1. How many meetings will ellis perks ride for Buxton this season ? Zero Q2. Who will finish bottom of the NL ? Buxton Q3. Who will finish top (not win the play off ) ? Belle Vue Q4. who will end the season topping the Nl averages ? Steve Boxall Q5. Which current nl rider will end the season with the highest championship average ? Ellis Perks Q Q6. Which west midlands (birmingham, cradley) rider finishes the season with the highest average? Parkinson-Blackburn
  12. If worrall gates bears won't catch him, if he doesn't gate he won't catch bears - unfortunately he often gates!
  13. That is what your promotion will be saying at the end of the season!
  14. I would expect a Worrall to be included, although with the current level of decision making going on at Berwick it may just be Berge brought back!!
  15. Getting back to original thought maybe it should be R for raced/ridden Have to say I'm more interested in the numbers than the letters and I think it will be a while before Berwick do start to reduce there minus figure!
  16. This is exactly why rule is in place about MC giving a new assessed average for any riders not having completed required matches when whole team is redeclared. Virtually guaranteed he will be put on higher average!
  17. Agreed, most knew Perks should have it, but if you were new to speedway, garrity was the more spectacular rider, and therefore arguably more entertaining. Perks was just ultra efficient and unexpected
  18. Ironic that the picture on BSPA website actually shows JBA in action in heat 7!
  19. If referee's official scorecard says Perks, it was Perks! Doesn't matter if everyone else states that is not the case!
  20. Of course the up side is that once his average goes up (and it will probably be a substantial rise) you can then get a much better guest when he is doubling up!
  21. So the track wasn't "doctored" in any way to favour home team , as there was no need to due to Panthers not being good enough to warrant such measures. That has to be the comment of the season so far!
