Saw a note on Facebook earlier to say former Eastbourne, Poole and Oxford rider Malcolm Ballard passed away on Saturday.
-
I'm under no illusions of the likelihood of them being complicit in this end result. They needed Osborne onside to complete some recent work in the housing estate. Osborne purposely held back on that to use as a bargaining tool. Once that was done, the speedway planning statement was released and the Council backed off.
-
Absolutely zero consequence or jeopardy for GI now. This is the last element of the planning left, they've ticked all their housing boxes. Swindon Borough Council have been played like a fiddle from day one.

https://www.swindon.gov.uk/news/article/1047/council_provides_update_on_abbey_stadium_development Stick a fork in it.... Council had their belly tickled from day one, as we all know.

It must be a local distribution issue and not Pinegen sending out late. Mine has arrived as regular as clockwork every week recently.

SON 2 Belle Vue Friday 12th July

Terrible call... -
GI have said greyhounds end "by the end of the year"
-
Let's hope it stays that way and he has no influence on the Council over the stadium's future.
-
Poole is firmly in Osborne's sights, no doubt about that
-
Classic Osborne... "Relevant updated land ownership position" is an interesting one and I assume relates to the L&G recent news
-
Got it. Cheers Updated drawing also submitted on the 10th, I see.

Do you have a link to the original please?

Last roll of the dice from.our old mate Clarkey boy

https://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/1787/bill-mcmillan Some solid reserve averages. Clearly, his short spell in Div 2 was more to Bill's liking.

I'm flabbergasted that peolple are still referring to GI, by some flying pig miracle, building a new track as "positive news" We don't want these parasites to have any connection to the club whatsoever! Anyone worth their salt would refuse to attend and line that b****** Osborne's pockets and it would be a matter of time before he would be looking to put houses on the new land. If GI are our only option, I would rather we stay mothballed!
-
Building on the plot was obviously GI's plan from day one back in the mid-noughties, as many realised. I'm sure the original plan was for Osborne to develop the whole plot himself, but as you say, he's now offset some risk and potential planning pain by selling the stadium footprint. I'm sure L&G wouldn't be in the business of buying this if they didn't have some assurance that the planning change of use is likely to get pushed through.

It could be interpreted that Osborne is looking to move the stadium land on. I wonder if his recent planning change for that land has been pushed back?

L&G Affordable Homes have paid GI a deposit for a charge over the Abbey Stadium plot with an intention to buy and develop it.
