  1. ...says piratecnic with his Danish avatar! ATB Dave
  2. But maybe it will be of benefit to the travelling fans and enable them to see the meeting and still make their pre-booked flights home? ATB Dave
  3. A traditional layout Heat-by-Heat version of the race card is also available from the KanDysoft website. Use the link below and scroll down to bottom the International Files page for the FREE SWC Final_Print pdf. http://www.kandysoft.com/speedway_files.htm ATB Dave
  4. Thanks to the Danish Webmaster, as ever, for his work for the armchair viewer. If you prefer the traditional Race-by-Race format, I have added a downloadable pdf for the Race Off to the KanDysoft Web site. (based on the KanDysoft SWC_2009 Spreadsheet). http://www.kandysoft.com/Downloads/SWC_PO_%20Print.pdf ATB Dave

  7. According to the latest FIM release, Maciej Janowski replaces Gomolski at No. 18 ATB Dave
  8. On-Line pdf of GP Rules: http://www.fim.ch/EN/rules/Sportifs/ccpGP/2008/077_en.pdf Snipped from Rule 077.9.2 The Referee is the only person authorised to take decisions in case of any doubt regarding a rider’s placing if disqualified, injured, etc. during a the Big Final. These decisions must be communicated to the person in charge of the Official Results. ATB Dave
  9. The rule regarding Dead Heats has been amended. Points are now shared between the riders. (i.e. two riders dead heat for first 2.5 points each etc.) Could make the who-beat-who tie break revert to a coin toss / ballot / lucky dip if the two (or more) riders then tied on points prior to the semi's. ATB Dave
  10. Correct f-s-p As shown in my post in :- http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...0entry1052608 ATB Dave
  11. The occasion of a tie in the overall standings IS covered in the FIM rules which can be accessed on-line from:- http://www.fim.ch/EN/rules/Sportifs/ccpGP/2007/077_en.pdf ----------------------------------------------------- The Final Overall Grand Prix Classification In case of riders involved in a tie on the Final Overall Grand Prix Classification, at the end of the Grand Prix Series, the following will apply : 1. Run-off for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 2. Run-off for 8th place, which is the last qualifying place for the following year's Grand Prix Series. 3. For all other placings, the lowest riding number jacket will be considered the better-placed rider. ------------------------------------------------------ Although it does not state a 'Gate' choice method I feel the ballot is/was the fairest way. ATB Dave
  12. Yep...I really wanted to watch the fireworks! ...But what happened on the final bend of the final lap of the final race must have outshone any of the pyrotechnics that followed the presentation! It's a blooming long haul from level 6 Press area, right round the stadium to the Press Conference and we only just arrived in time. Well worth the slog through the bowels of the stadium though, and quite an emotional Press Conference it was too! ATB Dave
  13. For those of us fortunate enough to be in the Press Conference it was also great to see both Jason & Greg acknowledging and praising Chris as a true & worthy winner, also Crumpy leading a round of applause for the British GP Champion. Nice one Jason. ATB Dave
  14. Looks a nice evening in Eskilstuna according to the WebCam http://www.ekuriren.se/?load=kameran ATB Dave
  15. The Rule has been changed this year. Snipped from The Rule Book: (Which is available for download on the FIM Web Site) http://www.fim.ch/en/default.asp?item=30# 077.8.1 Individual Speedway World Championship Grand Prix Format Riders' gate positions for The Big Final (Heat 23) will be chosen by the participating riders prior to the Heat in the order of their finishing place in the Semi-Finals, the two winners have first and second choice. The two second placed riders have third and fourth choice. The draw order of the two winners and the two second placed riders shall be determined by their total race points scored, including the points they scored in the Semi-Finals. The rider with the highest number of points having the first choice, and so on. ATB Dave
  16. More like...when he mentioned the excellent Spreadsheet he was using! ATB Dave
  17. I personally found parts of Millard's commentary very good! ATB Dave
  18. Oh No!! he's had a "Upadek na ostatniej pozycji Schleina" in his 2nd ride Decay on last position Schleina............according to Poltran ATB Dave
  19. I believe that for "Health & Safety" reasons the roof is not allowed to be moved (opened or closed) whilst the public are in the stadium, and so a decision on 'open' or 'closed' has to be made before 5:00 pm. ATB Dave
  20. Sorry SCB, I thought you were talking about watching competitive racing. Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is pre-stage Rallying? (No, I'm not extracting the urine...I really don't know what pre-stage rallying is!) ATB Dave
  21. Ah! But......Can you see ALL of the action ALL of the time at a Rally? ATB Dave
  22. Whilst I'm not trying to justify the £27:00 figure, don't forget that when comparing the the price of tickets for Speedway at the Stadiumn, BSI have to rent the stadium for around a week, plus pay the costs of staff and materials for laying the track, and clearing it all away afterwards. ATB Dave
  23. Because of the fact that points also decide which semi-final you are in, you could then end up with two or three run-off's, just to decide which riders go in which semi-final! Tonight, for example, you would also have needed a run-off between the four riders who finished on 9 points, to decide which semi-final they went in.
  24. Normal points scoring: 3, 2, 1, 0. If two or more riders fail to finish a race they get 0 points, as in League racing.
