2015 Ice Speedway Gladiators
Gambo replied to customhouseregular's topic in International World of Speedway
Looking for Ice updates this weekend, I have found these two sites to be very informative http://nicesport.pl/live http://live.baansportfansite.nl/ ATB Dave -
There were no subsequent amendments to Rule 17.11.4 last year. ATB Dave

17.11.4 A Rider in the re-run of a Heat where that Rider was not disqualified and is unable to take part due to injury or damage to his/her motorcycle, in which case assumes the status of the Rider being replaced, e.g. in the same helmet colour, gate position, as a TR (and the possibility of double points), even if s/he has already taken a TR ride. ATB Dave

A Reserve replacing an injured TR rider 'inherits' the TR role in that race. ATB Dave

Last season (when there were two Tactical Rides per side in a meeting) a Reserve could theoretically have scored 27 points! 4 programmed Race wins. 1 win as a Replacement for any rider. 2 x Tactical Ride wins. (Replacing two Tactical Riders who both happened to be Fn in the first running of their TR race) Now the maximum he can score is 24. ATB Dave

More On The Decline Of British Speedway

....No matter which team the winner came from..... Now that would certainly spice things up! ATB Dave -
The YELLOW (Nathan Greaves) exclusion light definitely came on during the race although I cannot say for sure at what stage the race was actually stopped. ATB Dave

Hey! If you are going to slag something off, as being bloody garbage, at least have the courtesy to spell it right! ATB Dave -
I believe that in these instances a Promoter can chose which rider is nominated as the higher if it affects Heat Leader or Reserve positions. Once the choice is made, it cannot be changed. ATB Dave

Now that's what I call a great idea! Shouldn't think the gates would be too much of a problem as the three remaining riders would have a 'staggered' start with more room to manoeuvre. ATB Dave

More like the other way round! The actual template we now use can cope with any number & combination of matches. ATB Dave

28 for Elite League (even though there are 36 League Matches) 24 for PL (Includes League Cup this year) ATB Dave

I wonder if Emil is going to take part in GP Qualifiers for 2015? The way he has withdrawn from this season's series is hardly likely to guarantee him a Wild Card place whenever his advisers say that it is OK for him to return to the GP's. ATB Dave -
So Mr Holder and the like get their way with fewer meetings in Britain, so that they have more time for lucrative European meetings? What about the other riders, with no European meetings? How are they supposed make a living? ATB Dave

The link from DutchGrasstrack seems to still be showing the practice. I found the live stream (below.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tQb8fIvJl8 ATB Dave

Sgp Riders' Numbers
Gambo replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Maximum of 3 digits. 1 - 15 Reserved by the FIM. Nicki Pedersen is ranked 5, so he can have 5 or a number of his own choice, up to 3 digits. 666? ATB Dave -
As others have said, a character and a Gentleman. I can vividly recall the first words he ever spoke to me on the centre green at Bradford. (My first opportunity to photograph from the inside of a track, thanks to my association with the Speedway Mail.) I wandered up to the first turn and positioned myself in what I thought was the perfect place, until a voice behind me shouted.... "OY MATE! GET OUTTA MY F*****G SHOT!" Despite that embarrassing (for me) first meeting Alf would always have time for a chat whenever our paths crossed. RIP Alf.
