SF Speedway Media @SFspeedwaymedia 7m7 minutes ago More We have very exciting news regarding our youth rider @Leonflintracing that will be released in the morning! So proud to be involved with him -
The statements put out today all say that going to Leicester will be short term so that Brandon is brought back to usable condition, though why it has been let to get into the state it is in now is another question. If by May or June say and the Bees are back home then all well and good though I think there will be further excuses made, further deadlines extended and Coventry will see out the season at Leicester which will almost certainly lead to another winter of uncertainty before the 2018 season.

Workington Comets @OfficialComets 2m2 minutes ago More Great news as Thomas Armstrong Ltd will continue as our main sponsor
-
Delighted to see this saga come to a positive end and Coventry remain on track. Thing is I get the feeling that a return to Brandon wont happen.
-
Hopefully there will be some kind of an announcement tomorrow, one that brings this whole saga to an end with a bit of luck.

Uncertainty Over Teams And Sky Tv
screm replied to Nobblytriers's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Sky are not crap, they are giving a window to speedway, what is crap is that after so many years coverage we still dont have a main sponsor for our main league. -
If the vast majority of those 1000 correspondents turned up at Brandon each race night then the Bees might not be in the pickle they find themselves.
-
I`m sure the BSPA will certainly be considering considering planning for the event.

Peterborough at the minute are due to race on two other Friday nights other than against Berwick, Scunthorpe March 24th, then Sheffield July 14th. -
We were told by Buster last Friday that by now we would know what was happening at Coventry by now, and we`re still waiting. One wonders if the BSPA would be so charitable with the amount of time had it another club.

You could still do a tour, just not all the meetings will involve Berwick, but I`m sure any tracks you could visit would be very welcome of the extra few through their gate and of course their bar takings would go up, for the reasons posted already. Anyway as is mentioned on the fixture list fixtures are liable to change making any kind of arrangements a bit of a gamble. -

Sad to see not much resembling a southern tour as was the case in years gone by, in fact I dont think Berwick even have two away meetings on consecutive nights never mind anything you would consider as a tour. -
Can you do that though with any confidence, for example I`m planning on doing the SWC round at Kings Lynn and would probably stay over for the Peterborough Ipswich meeting the following day. Just a guess but there`s every chance that meeting will be minus Danny King and/or Jack Holder, so could that meeting be moved or become a guest fest.
-
I find the criticism of Buster Chapman and/or the BSPA a bit odd, IMO the BSPA have been more than lenient with Coventry and those trying to see speedway continue there. But there has to be a time when a decision must be made, I thought that would be last Friday but here we are Monday evening without any definite news.
-
Fixture list, for Championship clubs anyway, will be released at 9am this Tuesday, maybe the Coventry situation will become clearer before then.
-
Looks like the full fixtures will be released on Tuesday at 9am.
-
To be fair to the BSPA I think they have, other than saying talks were on going I`m not sure how much more could be said. Looks like Fridays deadline has passed, for the good of speedway a decision should be announced tomorrow and we can move on with or without Coventry.
-
Certainly with Campton I agree with you, Workington seem to see something that I`m afraid I cant and I see another season of averageness from Campton, and giving the kind of faith, and the efforts Workington have put in to sign him being just average isnt good enough IMO.
-
Should speedway close at Brandon will the Brandon or bust brigade still be saying the same this time next year.
-
There`s an interview with Buster Chapman over on the BSPA site where he says he received an email yesterday that would clarify matters, about time to I hear you cry. Seems the deadline for the future of speedway at Coventry has been extended and then extended further, at some point a line needs to be drawn and a decision made, that line appeared to be yesterday but so far no word.
-
At some point a decision has to be made about the future of Coventry Speedway, talks cant be allowed to go on for ever, so whether its positive or negative news I think we need to know.
-
Agree with this, maybe not with Mr Chapman every time, but maybe on a monthly bases on the BSPA site we could have an interview with someone from the management committee, referee etc. Might even help fans understand why certain decisions were made, or help understand the day to day running of all three leagues.

It would certainly been a nice touch to have used Rymel`s company to make the race suits but it appears not. On a positive note it appears Liam Carr is very well set up for the year, to the extent of helping out his new team mates.
