  1. I like to new start to the meeting and I can see it being popular with the younger fans, having two centre green presenters may work out, only thing for me is that at times you feel like youre listening to a conversation rather than having meeting presentation. But credit to the new promotion for at least trying things new, some will work some wont, meetings at Berwick have been presented in roughly the same style for donkeys years using the same jokes season in season out.
  2. Fully agree, if only every meeting could be like this, hard first turns, close scores and even closer racing in front of a very healthy crowd. Newcastle look to have put together another good team and are lead by probably the best rider in our league so to hold them to a draw may not look such a bad result in a few weeks. Berwick look a decent team this year, Vissing looks very good and IMO Ryan Blackrock thoroughly deserved his rider of the night award. Like the new presentation of the riders at the start of the night to so all in all worth the £15 entry money and that's all I ask.
  3. Spring has definetly sprung in the last couple of days in Berwick, lovely yesterday and equally lovely today so no problems weather wise.
  4. Robert Lambert has warmed up for this weekends meetings by winning a Pairs event in Lublin this afternoon, partnered by Bjarne Pedersen his team scored 21pts, Lambert scoring 11pts.
  5. Lambert is named in the Newcastle side for this weekends fixtures in the preview taken from the official Berwick site. http://berwickbandits.co/news/olympus-marquees-berwick-bandits-powered-mike-hope-wooler-open-their-team-season-visitors
  6. And with a very encouraging forecast for Saturday and Sunday it looks like you should see two very decent meetings.

  8. Agree with you, seems there was decent crowds at yesterdays meetings at Wolverhampton and Peterborough, hopefully a trend that continues for every club this year.
  9. Whatever the crowd figure was for last Saturday the task that the new promotion faces is to get as many of those that were there last Saturday to return again and again throughout the season, something that hasn't happened in seasons gone by. In other season we were told of this buzz, something that many fans didn't feel, but this season there does seem to be a genuine positivity around the club, if the team gets off to a decent start then the new promotion might be onto a good thing.
  10. The two lanes of traffic thing has been happened for years, though I agree it can be a problem at times when someone is trying to get in. If people treat it as a proper junction and leave the incoming left hand lane clear it will add to the time it takes to clear the car park. Anyway surely a car park full of cars with people going to the speedway is a nice problem to have, must admit its never been a problem for me, maybe you could stay back a few minutes to let the traffic die down a little.
  11. Well said that man, I hope he sticks to his word. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/15156639.Speedway__Steadfast_Ford_digs_heels_in_over_Holder_availability/
  12. Absolutely, for those who thought that last Saturday need to wait till June or July when the real cold nights hit Berwick.
  13. Weather set reasonably fair, not much chance of rain or snow so the practice session will go ahead, not even all that cold.
  14. Not from Saturday but here is something exciting to report, on a rider who is clearly going places. https://www.leonflintracing.com/single-post/2017/03/05/Flint-Confirms-ROW-Rybnik-Partnership
  15. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/bbc_radio_coventry_warwickshire Speedway debate coming up next, hopefully this link will work.
  16. Gutted for the many Coventry fans who have been robbed of their night at speedway through no fault of their own, but with the goings on at Brandon in recent times none of us can be all that surprised at today's announcement.

  20. Leon's French League debut ended in two defeats today as his side Marmande lost 42-48 to Macon, and 39-51 at the hands of Lamothe Landerron. Despite the defeats Leon became a firm fans favourite from the off, scoring paid 7 in both matches, including an incredible win over a 500cc rider. Full match report will be available tomorrow. #22 Information taken from Leon Flint Racing Facebook page. Well done to Leon on a very decent start to his racing in 2017.
  21. This years trips to SGP will take me to Prague and Torun, with a short trip to Kings Lynn in July for the SWC round.
  22. Looks like there will be another date for the diary, Saturday August 5th for Kevin Doolan`s Testimonial meeting.
  23. He did indeed, though this time round his retirement seems more permanent. Mr Barrie has presented meetings all over the World, I wish him a long and happy retirement.
  24. THANK YOU DICK....WELCOME ROY AND STEVE! Ladies and Gentlemen tonight we can confirm that the season opening 50th season spectacular meeting will be your last opportunity to witness a master at work! Dick Barrie has made the decision to hand over the microphone and step into retirement from meeting presentation duties. Your new meeting presentation team will be a double act! Bandits announcer Steve Hayward makes the full time transition from refs box to the race track on a Saturday night and he will be joined by "Rantin" Roy Clarke. " Both Roy and Steve will be putting a very different spin on things and the dynamics of a two man presentation team is a very exciting prospect! Roy and Steve have some great plans up their sleeves and this will only add more entertainment to your Saturday night experience." adds Scott Courtney, "Dick Barrie has given a fantastic service to the club throughout the years and stepping away from the limelight on March 18th seems a very fitting way to bow out. Dick will be welcome as always at Berwick Speedway and still has a lot to offer the club. On behalf of everyone involved at the Club past and present, we would like to thank Dick for his unrivalled commitment over the years and we wish him all the very best in his retirement from meeting presentation duties" News taken from the Berwick Facebook page.
