Berwick Bandits Vs Newcastle Diamonds Pl 7.5.16 7.00pm
screm replied to mike7164's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don`t blame Newcastle for trying to get this fixture changed, but Berwick must look after their best interests which I think they have done. Newcastle have been granted guest facility for Kus and Lambert and have booked more than adequate cover for them. -
As one of our group is obsessed with sources of information, I`m sure they will make everything clear later on and address this issue. Though there doesn't seem to be an answer here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League_Riders%27_Championship

If Mr Godfrey and the rest of his management committee are doing nothing much this evening, and are keen on this interests of speedway lark, they might want to look at how an assessed 7pt average rider can come out with a 3pt average as his first true average, some things up there.

Good luck to Kevin Doolan who is guesting for Plymouth in their home match with Peterborough tonight.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
screm replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If there has been some sort of jiggery pokery going on with the Scunthorpe averages, wont the BSPA MC block any move in the interests of speedway. -
Are you sure, Peterborough have five Friday`s that clash with Belle Vue home fixtures, but in two of those they are Friday nights before SGP so Belle Vue colts will take up those fixtures, leaving three where there is an actual clash. On those nights I`m sure Peterborough could look to move their fixture, if not they would use a guest.
-
If there was going to be a guest fest each and every Friday then fair enough, but for three meeting clashes there isn't, I would support this decision if Peterborough had dropped a Brit to bring in a foreign rider who rode for a Friday track. But all Peterborough seem to be doing is getting one of our top riders into their team, and giving a chance to a young British rider, surely it does Team GB good to have Cook riding on a regular bases.

Forecast for Saturday according to the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2655819?day=1 Worrall & Barker certainly doesn't weaken Newcastle in any way, hopefully Jorgensen and Wethers will be over their injuries as if Berwick are to win they will need all seven riders firing. -

Acting promptly to avoid any recourse to the rider-replacement regulation, team boss Scott Courtney last night announced the signing of Danish rider Henning Bager to replace Anders Mellgren in our official 1-7. "I'm excited to welcome Henning Bager back to Berwick" Scott told us. "He is an experienced and capable performer and I'm confident he will enjoy his position in the side". Born at Esjberg in February, 1981, Henning has wide experience of British racing, and has continued riding in his homeland since last appearing in the UK (for Coventry) in 2012. His brief sojourn as a Bandit came in 2008, when he was signed up by then-promoter Peter Waite on a 28-day early-season contract, leaving as mutually agreed to concentrate on continental bookings. Weather was to blame for Henning racing in only three matches in black-and-gold, racking up an average for the club of 7.00. Racing for Mukebo just last night, his points helped his team (including Kenneth Bjerre and Ulrich Ostergaard) defeat the home team (starring Jason Doyle) by two points in their Danish ExtraLeague visit to Grinsted. He will slot straight into our side on Saturday, taking over Anders' No 4 race-jacket against the Diamonds. We are, of course, sorry to see Anders Mellgren on the sidelines. Our PLRC past-winner, had showed us what he could do in our final meeting of 2015 and was poised to hit the ground running this term. Instead, what had simply seemed to be "a sore knee" has turned out to be a much-more-serious matter. Following ten days of tests, scans and therapy in Sweden, Anders returned to our colours against Glasgow and was confident the joint would stand up to the rigours of racing --- but in Heat 3 against Scunthorpe his knee "went" again, and although he held on to gain a gallant third place he returned to the pits in agony, literally shaking all over from the pain and had to be lifted from his bike. Having been assessed yesterday at a rehabilitation clinic, he has been told he may require surgery -- not unlike the operation which took Claus Vissing out of our line-up from the mid-way point of last season -- and we cannot but sympathise with this most-likeable young man. This is the announcement of the Bager signing from the Berwick news letter, if someone can point out they have announced Bager as an injury replacement I`d be very grateful. Sorry about the mess with the copy and pasting.

Had Cook been going to miss virtually all Peterborough`s home meetings then this decision mightve made some sense, the last thing anyone would want is a multitude a guests, surely the Peterborough promotion will have looked at how many meetings Cook would miss. Having done so, and come to an agreement with Belle Vue, then they should be allowed to sign Cook and Stokes, who shouldn't be forgotten in this mess.
-
Dont be surprised if we see Cook signed up by another PL team.
-
Delighted to see the BSPA management committee blocking two GB riders from getting team places, no doubt Peterborough will have to bring back into their team Porsing and MPT, though I am sure this will be in the best interests of PL speedway.

Two very capable guests, should be a cracking meeting. -
Looks like he is a full time replacement.

Nico Covati has qualified for the SEC Challenge after today's meeting in Austria, sadly Paco Castagna failed to qualify in the same meeting. Thoughts from Chris Louis. http://www.ipswichwitches.co/story/no-more-home-defeats

The 2016 Speedway Best Pairs Cup

Switching your tv off and watching the blank screen would've been better than last nights meeting at Lakeside.
