Delighted to read that Lewis has taken a few steps to what I hope is a full recovery.
-
Once he settles he will prove to be a good signing, one or two PL will be wishing they had signed him.

There has been encouraging news that Lewis had some scans done yesterday which appear to be ok, obviously its still early days but lets hope the good news continues later today.

You think. The Polish Riders Final was a cracking meeting with some unbelievable racing. As you say Thornblom finished in 15th place in the Swedish Final, the meeting was won by Antonio Lindback who appears to have really got things together this season, maybe he could be in line for a return to SGP.
-
Lets hope in a few years time you can bring out a volume two.
-
Maybe this post should be printed off and read before the start of this years AGM, where no doubt after hearing it all of speedway`s ills will be cured, just like last year, the year before, the year before that, the year before that and well you get the picture.
-
Those Berwick fans who would like a trip down memory lane might want to have a look at the years gone by section of this forum, there might be something of interest for you.
-
It would certainly be one in the eye for Monster Joe and his troupe of riders.
-
No it wouldn't be a hardship, but as has already been pointed out Berwick Speedway seem to get little or no leeway when it comes to an alternate night now never mind asking for a complete change of race night. Back in the seventies Sunday afternoon meetings may well have been well attended but I think the rules regarding and regulating speedway at Shielfield have changed a bit since then.
-
All of which is a good idea, but you would need to get the councils agreement.
-
If what you say is true, and I`ve no reason to doubt you, then would there be any businessman out there willing to join something that is failing. Maybe they could turn Berwick round, but when Berwick is only one voice in the BSPA its difficult to see how any new promoter could force the changes needed to make speedway as a whole successful.
-
Difference is you are col24.
-
Lets hope so, but Berwick`s situation is very much short term, weeks in fact before the club give their intention to run or not. Speedway`s recovery may not include Berwick, we must hope that the club finds its new investment, or new owner.
-
Berwick`s plight now, could easily become a Redcar or a Scunthorpe or one or two others for that matter in the not to distant future.

David Howe Annonces His Retitrement
screm replied to Sotonian's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Best wishes to you for a long and happy retirement, hope the carp hear about this and are ready for many battles. -
Excellent post, though just on the SGP, it seems that BSI are looking to take speedway indoors in some cases as we have seen recently with roof covered SGP in Sweden, Denmark, Poland and of course Cardiff, that at least gives the fan an almost guaranteed meeting though thing went a bit wonky in Warsaw this year. Whether that improves the actual racing is another matter.
-
I agree with you, though in the case of Berwick going NL it looks like its off the agenda. Maybe it wouldn't be financially viable, maybe it would, but it at least would keep the speedway alive, maybe until a buyer could be found. Heads have been in the sand to long, it seems with some of the richer think all's right with the World as long as they are ok but if things don't change Berwick`s uncertain future could become a familiar tale.

Haven't read the latest news letter yet but if its PL, in its current state, or nothing, I fear we will have nothing.
