Whatever the rights and wrongs, the ins and out of the situation, Matej Kus has signed for Redcar and Berwick need to move on and sign a team capable of carrying on from a successful 2014.

It has gone a bit quiet, hopefully Santa will bring one or two presents soon.

If Doolan was 3rd heat leader behind Barker and Vissing for example the as long as he road to his average then that would be more than adequate IMO. Nothing against Doolan but if we have a fraction under seven points to spend then I hope we add that little bit extra and bring in a new asset, maybe its time to start building an asset base where in future years we don't get the Kus episode happening again.

In a word no, any increase in crowd levels was mainly due to the numbers of kids going, and they got in free. Interesting though that when the promotion push the boat and truly promote a meeting they are usually rewarded with a decent crowd, there`s a lesson there somewhere.

Agree with you, I`d love Berwick to now go out and bring in two or three new assets, and if that means signing the likes of Allen on a seven then so be it, though in this instance its a real gamble. One thing though, if these new riders take time to settle and Berwick start losing at home will the crowd start dwindling, though the basic concept of bringing in new riders is a good one.

Had Havelock gone through with his threat to go for a transfer only with Matej, there was a very real possibility that he wouldn't have found a job over here, there was an offer of employment at Redcar so Kus took it, time will tell if he made the right decision.

All good promotions should have alternative plans on team building when a potential signing goes elsewhere, I have no doubt that will be the case at Berwick. I`d go with that, losing out on Kus and possibly Vissing might force the issue, hopefully the clubs contacts will be able to help, should they go that way.

If Barker remains a PL No1 then Vissing backing him up as you describe would do just fine.

If young Allen comes in on a 7pt average there is no way Berwick can include him in next years team, surely. Now that Kus isn't coming back and the possibility of Allen on a seven pointer Berwick might be wise to go back to the drawing board and look at a new team, still plenty time and still plenty riders out there to make a decent team.

Disappointed that Kus has had a change of heart and gone to Redcar, especially as it seemed so certain he would return to Berwick. Question now is where this leaves Berwick`s team building plans, will they change now Kus has gone elsewhere, then there's still the questions over the average or permit of Allen.

I find the stance taking by Mr Havelock very funny, thing is most people are laughing at him. Once he has had his medication and has calmed down a little, then Matej Kus will be allowed to ride for Berwick next season, the club want him and he wants to be here.

If Allen comes into the team on a 5pt average then he would be a handy signing, if, and its only an if at this stage because having already announced his signing I am sure the club have done their homework, should Allens average be a seven then it would surely mean a rethink.

So does new signing Jake Allan come in on a 5pt or a 7pt average.

I`d take Kus over Doolan every time, no disrespect to Doolan but his best days are gone and gone for good, Kus on the other hand should have his best days ahead of him, hopefully at Berwick. Must be a better bet to have riders in your team where there is at least the potential there to improve.

Workington have 7-16 to spend on their final rider, Allen`s average is 8-93, there Workington will be forced into dropping one of their new signings for 2015. Either that or this poster will look very very foolish, probably for ever more on this forum.

I`m never anything else but happy, though I never had you down as a psychologist or worried about my state of well being, but cheers anyway.

Signing Barker is a real coup for Berwick as it gives us an out and out No1, if you go down that route in terms of team building you need two top reserves, something that Berwick wont have it appears for 2015.

It would be a real shame if we didn't build on last season and not just see it as a one off, the promotion whether by luck or judgement put together a decent team and were congratulated for it.

And those clubs would who exactly.
