  1. I am looking at going to Prague, lovely city, great weekend.
  2. Summers has made it pretty clear he is looking to get into one of the leagues abroad, having already dipped his toe into Swedish waters there`s a chance of a contract there, which might mean Thursday meetings. That would of course rule him out of Redcar's plans.
  3. Looking at other social media sites there are quite a few who agree with you.
  4. I`ll give you Complin, but not the rest, a little research would tell you that.
  5. Sunday any better for you. In a season so-spoiled by postponed meetings (Workington brought our tally for the year to 18!) it was hardly surprising to learn our plans to stage an End-of-Term Dance have been wrecked by rearranged fixtures, too! The Dance -- planned to be at the Black-and Gold on Friday, October 24th has been cancelled, as the promotion did not want our riders, mechanics and officials -- who have worked so hard to entertain us all season -- to have forego having a let-your-hair-down evening on the night before we are now required to race at Workington. Instead, we will stage an End-of-Term Party -- some real "Afternoon Delight" -- at Berwick Rugby Club, on the day after our final away meeting, on SUNDAY afternoon, October 26th. This will take place from 2pm until 7 o'clock. This special event will have Andersons' pies and a sweet course for our 'afternoon tea' and of course the bar will be open. All the regular end-of-term trophies will be presented, the riders and management will make their speeches and there will be the usual raffle. Tickets now only £4 - £3 if your a Supporters Club member. All brilliantly-organised by lovely Lani Rae -- and questions over tickets, etc, should go to Lani on 07779-227535 or Lisa Youngman on 07773-759864. Taken from the latest newsletter.
  6. Ok then, maybe you can post a list of riders who have retired come back, and performed better. Fact or facetious, up to you.
  7. Temporary tracks are miles better than where we were when they first appeared, obviously there are more of them. BSI should be congratulated for taking speedway into these indoor arenas and guaranteeing meetings for the fans, but clearly there should always be a place for "proper" tracks.
  8. Alden has indeed had some spectacular meetings round Berwick, and some duff ones to. Beware of the rider returning from retirement, they seldom recapture former glories.
  9. There must be more attractive options out there, other than Seb Alden. I am surprised he would even come in for consideration
  10. Extremely unlikely I know, but what if Ward doesn't get a ban, he could be named as 16th rider for every GP next year.
  11. NKI was a nailed on certainty, MJJ deserves a shot when you look at his performances in SGP this year. Not so sure about Batchelor and even less sure about Thomas H. Ward had better be banking a water tight defence as todays announcement ends any chance of being in SGP next year.
  12. Not even Berwick would consider Alden, or any other rider for that matter, under those terms.
  13. Zagar Lindgren Woffinden Kasprzak Hancock not to be World Champ
  14. In a way, Auckland was the 1st GP of the year, it has been replaced with Melbourne which will now be the last GP starting next year.
  15. I went to the Prague GP this season, my one and only so far, thoroughly enjoyed it to, so I`m looking at going back there. Flights out of Edinburgh are better times than this year for me, but I am going to wait till the dates and venues for the SWC are announced before booking. Some of my friends are flying out for the Torun GP this weekend, so might try a GP in Poland next year.
  16. And he has just become half of the Czech Pairs Champs, he is the kind of rider we should be looking at, though its unlikely we will see him in a Berwick race jacket next season.
  17. We seem to be going round in circles on this thread, Ward did this, he didn't do that. Cant wait for the verdict to be passed down, either way this forum will go into over drive.
  18. Hang on though we don't want to go over working our trophy cleaning lady over the winter months, she already has the Tweed/Tees Trophy to polish.
  19. The play offs are here to stay, but the down side is that you get meaningless meetings like this one, maybe the club will try the old there`s going to be a major announcement trick to try and tempt a few more along.
  20. David Bellego`s final attempt in the Under-21 Finals ended with a 10th place finish in the Czech Republic this afternoon, he finished the meeting with 7pts. The meeting was won by Kasper Gomolski, but the title went to Piotr Pawlicki.
  21. Edinburgh Monarchs ‏@EdinMonarchs 14m14 minutes ago After yet another forecasting failure by @metoffice, tonight's match against @diamondspeedway has been postponed
  22. Doyle qualifying for next years series hasn't done Wards claims to a wild card pick much good, and IMO next years wild cards picks could be the hardest ever to pick. NKI will get one, the other three are up for argument.
  23. Each to their own tastes but I`m finding the criticism of Nigel Pearson boring and out of order, speedway should be grateful we have someone within the media that can promote the sport, which I`m sure he does.
  24. Leszno did well to win on the night, but I don't see them holding on to their league as you get bet the Gorzow riders will be putting in the laps this week ready for next Sundays second leg.
  25. Agree most will look to Poland first, but I suppose if you don't try you never get.
