  1. Arent we making a bit to much of this, apart from the local rag and the Speedway Star Id be surprised if this story made any of the national papers.
  2. You`d think after Wards run in with the law over here he mightve matured, but it appears not. Also this might not do his chances of gaining a visa and favours.
  3. As its only a challenge meeting Im sure the Edinburgh promotion would be quite willing to let Tully guest, should Berwick choose Tully of course.
  4. Credit where credits due,it took two posts to get Mr Copy & Paste going, where it normally takes only one. I like you.
  5. Agreed,I take it you dont re-read some of your own then. And anyway Im quite happy to have my comments anallysed, and poured over by you,I dont have to ride on the back of Berwick Speedway to put my comments up.
  6. I agree that his programme column is usually a good read, even if you dont always agree with what he writes. Its a question of taste and choice but I think Berwick might do well to be without him on the centre green, some of his parade presentations and comments on opposition riders were really quite emmbarrassing at times.
  7. Berwick have announced some changes, firstly it looks like they will revert to a more traditional parade with bikes on track before the racing starts, also a local DJ is joining the presentation team. The meeting programme will change size though there will be no change in price it seems. The adult admission will go up from £12 to £13.
  8. Sad to hear that Micheal has given up his presenting days,on the times Ive seen him he`s always been very imformative and never hogged the limelight.
  9. Good grief,Teal puts up a perfectly good arguement and thats the best you can do in terms of a response.
  10. Simon Stead will be a top scorer for Sheffield, and probably one of the top riders in the PL.If Sheffield are to be successful though it will be what kind of back up he gets from the other six.
  11. Oh boy are you in trouble with the Bandit thread commando`s. But you are right,we have spectacular meetings at Shielfield in the past,so its not like it cant be done.Last season our track crew were at the mercy of the weather at times,so you can forgive that, but I still maintain if the racing top notch then the crowds will come back. The promotion have taken a gamble in lowering the admission prices, hopefully that will attract a few back but if the tracks prepped well and the racing is good, theres bound to more missing fans to come back simply through word of mouth about the racing.
  12. Yeah right. While I agree that a modern presentation can add to a night at the speedway, its not the be all and end all for me,I mean Ive never walked away from Shielfield thinking wasnt Dick Barrie great tonight,or there was some great banging tunes tonight. Its all about the racing for me and that brings up the thorny subject of consistant track prep. Some see the subject as "sad" but put good riders on a good track and you invariably get a good meeting.Im even quite happy to put up with Barries witterings, and any music of choice if we get some cracking meetings, and as we have seen in the past it can be done.
  13. Mr Barrie will love reading this, his ego will be suitably massaged.
  14. Less of Dick Barrie, less laps from the tractors, push the meeting through, its not to much to ask.
  15. But does it though, advertising space is bound to cost more for the F1 coverage than any for GP speedway,so a return of only 2.2 million might not be that great, must admit though Im surprised its that high.Ive always thought Sky were reasonably happy with the viewing figures for speedway though with the money Sky are throwing at PL football it could well be that speedways days are numbered.
  16. You think, normally I record any GPs or SWC meetings that are held on a saturday night,so I can get to Berwick.Should the GPs be available on this site through a link from Polish tv for example then Id stay home and watch the GP,that means Berwick Speedway not getting my admission and programme money.
  17. The threads about Pearson & Tatum have been done to death IMO,they are clearly the commentaters that Sky want and if theres GP speedway on Sky this season they will be the commentary team, which is just fine by me.
  18. Fine by me Id be quite happy for Sky to put their money the GPs anyway.
  19. As others have said theres no definite decision been made yet so lets hope Sky decide to show the GPs in 2013,must admit though if Sky were going to televise the GPs you`d think they would have announced it by now.
  20. Barrett has posted on Facebook that he has to take rest for 2 weeks but should be ready for the start of the season.
  21. If theres no GPs on Sky next season and the Sky deal isnt renewed Id get used to it.
  22. Bingo,at last we have one Leicester fan who`s sees the point of the meeting.Well done to the Leicester promotion for putting on a meeting with something different for the home fans.
  23. Says Skytext page 449,it reports thats Barrett has compressed a vertebrae in a freak accident while on a skiing holiday and has been ordered to take 8 weeks rest, leaving things touch and go for the meeting with Edinburgh. So if your looking for your doom and gloom merchant give Sky a call.
  24. After a skiing accident it might be a bit of a struggle for Nicki Barrett to be ready to go for the start of the season.
  25. Agree with you,how dare the Leicester promotion try and bring money into the club. Flagrag makes a good point that it might be an idea if Leicester bring in an EL No1 as a guest, though that means that one of the homes riders will miss out on much needed laps in the early part of the season.Tell you what un-happy Leicester fans Berwick have Edinburgh as their first meeting of the season, fancy swapping.
