  1. Obviously losing Ashworth is a blow, and a big one at that, but come on people lets not this give up.Its up to the other six to raise their game and cover for our No1,Edinburgh are a decent team but Berwick have their backs against the wall tonight, time to come out fighting. And there`ll be one extra in the crowd to.
  2. At the minute Ashworth isnt scoring as he should, but hopefully his scores will improve very soon.
  3. Weathers set fair this saturday, sunshine and light winds all day.
  4. and thats because the lady loves milk tray xx.
  5. Thats what signing for Redcar does for you.
  6. Im sure the riders will have given their opinions to the track team, and those changes to the track will happen over the next three or four weeks.
  7. You do get the feeling one will be leaving fairly soon. Re Ashworth. In tight meeting you always look to your No1 to win the crucial Ht 13 & 15,so far Ashworths scores have not been good enough for an out and out No1.That said he has had an injury in one meeting, missed a meeting and has had one or two bike troubles. In the end he will come good and be back scoring big scores both home and away, for Berwicks sake it could do with happening sooner rather than later. I do find it slightly perplexing that some are giving their backing to Ashworth, which is very admiral, but have been very quick to stick the knife into previous No1s in the Berwick team.
  8. Weather seems set fair for tomorrow, lots of sun forecast for today and tomorrow.
  9. On the face of it this was a far better performance from Berwick,in truth the tie was lost last saturday at Shielfield.Credit though to the Bears on their win and the best of luck to them for the rest of the competition. Questions must surely be being asked by the Berwick management as to how you can be 15pts up half way through the meeting yet go on to lose.True, the withdrawal of Kus gave a very impressive Dyer extra rides, but Berwick seem to cave in in the second half of the meeting. More "butt kicking" needed IMO.
  10. I truely hope not,Id be hoping that lessons were learned from last week and the track on saturday night will give the riders something they can work with.
  11. Its Redcars to lose now,and I cant see them doing so.From a Berwick perspective Id like to see a spirited performance at the very least, even if its in a losing effort.
  12. Berwick can ill afford two defeats on the spin so this is an indeed an important meeting.Edinburgh will of course prove difficult opponents but with one or two well chosing words in the riders ears from their manager I think Berwick are capable of a most welcome home win.
  13. Excellent news,I hope this meeting will do the PL proud.
  14. Im quite surprised that this poster hasnt been back to delete or at least edit their post. You can bet someone will before to long.
  15. Thats one hell of an accusation and one I hope you have some kind of evidence of.
  16. I dont think the only reason that Edbergs in the team is to do with the racesuits, but you can bet it wasnt half a good bargining chip when it came to talking over a 2013 contract. Im sure Dyer was on Berwicks radar at the end of last season, but it wouldve been daft not to sign Barrett given his starting average and Edberg is an asset,so was likely to get a place, race suits or not.One possibility of course was to buy Dyer as an asset but with the club being strapped for cash and the whole asset system up in the air it might not have been the wisest investment.
  17. You can have as many pirotechnics as you like that light up the Berwick skyline, you can have the sexiest ladies with the skimpiest outfits jiggling their bits to the latest tune from one of the trendy new boy bands, you can have the latest and greatest in hardware software or menswear. At the end of the day its all about what happens out on track, and if the paying public see races being all but over after one lap,and from the gate racing they will vote with their feet.
  18. IMO Redcars trump card could be Dyer at reserve,he showed last year that he is capable of big scores round Shielfield and could be in for a busy night tomorrow should Redcar run with r/r as they did last night and Matej Kus continue his stuttering start to the season.
  19. The only way Davey will answer his critics,me included,is to score points on track.Trouble is as others have said hes had six seasons over here and never got anywhere near a respectable average.Heres hoping the break from speedway has done him good and he will prove a decent signing for the Bears. Pray God forgive me for expressing an opinion.
  20. With you there FTG racing is no good to nobody.
  21. Berwick 1 Seb Alden 2 David Bellego 3 Kozza Smith 4 Mathew Wethers 5 Robin Aspegren 6 Alex Edberg 7 Nicki Barrett Redcar 1 Ulrich Ostergaard 2 Hugh Skidmore 3 Aaron Summers 4 Carl Wilkinson 5 Matej Kus 6 Mitchel Davey 7 Micky Dyer KOC at Sheilfield this with Redcar in town, the away team had better hope their performances improve for this one as so far this season they have taken three beatens.Micky Dyer could be in for a busy night should Wilkinson & Kus continue their poor performances. Comfortable home win for me.
  22. Arent those two riders much of a muchness though,Hart seems to have disappeared from the scene.
  23. Wasnt at the meeting so no I didnt read it.
  24. Ive know doubt that Alden was signed as a full time asset as at that time the club and the rider thought that they had a long term relationship in place. That changed by the looks of things for a variety of reasons. Would Berwick get a loan fee from Kings Lynn, with Kozza Smith coming the other way maybe there was a swap agreement for the season.
