  1. I take it none of you has read an Ipswich thread.
  2. It seems to be happening more and more,Im sure it was announced before the start of this season they was going to be a medical room that would at least speed up any hand over between our medical team the the ambulance crew from the County Ambulance. As you say delays kill the meeting stone dead, last night there were people heading home as soon as it was announced another ambulance was on its way. Of course in all of this the comfort and treatment of any injured rider is paramount,I dont think anyone would suggest otherwise, but in the last couple of weeks we have lost two NJL meeting and second halves through this.
  3. Its sometimes a risk but Id go with guests, though friday at Somerset showed its not always the answer.Nick Morris has been booked again for wednesdays meeting against Plymouth,so in the short term we are in a decent position. The only thing that would change things is if Ashworths injury is a season ending one, then we may need to look for a permanent replacement.
  4. Dyer has suffered a gash to his thigh, hopefully it will not require surgery and he can be back in the team asap,he did well at Somerset and looked good in winning Ht2 last night. As for Jacobsen,he was worse than last week,he`s losing yards out of the start and never looks like getting close to make a pass thereafter, but giving his average its virtually impossible to find a replacement.Gifted his 1st point last night after Blackbird had fallen, infact Blackbird remounted and had the race gone another lap I think he wouldve passed Jacobsen as he was certainly catching him.
  5. Bit of a strung out meeting tonight, understandably there delays due to injured riders, but the tractors were on far to often. All credit to Leicester on their win,it was well deserved as they held the upper hand all night,Berwick were never infront.Positives for Berwick, well Barrett showed glimpses on his home debut that is encouraging, and Alden looked back to somewhere near his best with some thrilling passes.Negative was Claus Jacobsen, who looks so out of sorts, after last week I posted he`d be lucky to hang on to his team place, after tonight there must be question marks over his future. For Leicester, providing nine race winners is where they won this match,Nieminen was unstoppable early though he did fade, the star was Bjerre who was excellent.while Ekolf chipped in with some vital points.Sadly Leicester lost Makinen after a Ht5 crash, hopefully his injuries are not to bad.
  6. Weather is far better now, suns out and the clouds are moving away, hopefully the weathers set for the rest of the day. Looking forward to this meeting,Leicester look a handy side for Shielfield.
  7. Agreed,of course this of course is only rumour, none this idea may never see the light of day.
  8. How utterly pathectic,I take it your in the brigade that thinks Berwick Speedway has only been running under this promotion, well heres the news,it hasnt. It ran to varying degrees of success for quite a few years,Waite also introduced news riders and built up a reasonable asset base, there were a few duds along the way but mostly he brought in decent PL riders. Read Bigeddiecheks post,I agree with that.
  9. Decent effort from Berwick last night, though 5pts from Robson,Alden & Bellego is a bit disappointing,a point or two more from them and we just mightve nicked a point.Good night from Dyer, though Im wondering why when he`s having a decent meeting is wasnt giving an extra ride or two,Im sure it was considered as he looked our best bet of getting points.
  10. It was dry in Berwick overnight, but as dawn broke the clouds moved in and soon after the rain. Its been for about the last hour, right now its still very dull but the rain is nowhere near as heavy, infact it may stop very soon. This weather is forecast to move away to leave a dry bright day. With the rain yesterday, and this morning, track conditions should be excellent with the natural watering.
  11. Partly agree, the 4TT success has stopped it being a right off, though Im one who always looks at PL position as to how to judge our season and right now its non to clever. We do have meetings in hand on the clubs above us,so its vital we start picking up points, home especially but a point or two away wont hurt. Im pleased with the signing of Barrett,as you say if he becomes a club asset then thats good news,if the rule is still 6 home 6 away for a rider to become an asset then Barrett wont become a Berwick asset this season as we dont have enough PL meetings left.
  12. Home win I agree, but hopefully Robson,Bellego,Aspregren and Alden can at least keep things decent.Im guessing this is the 1st trip to Somerset for Nicki Barrett, maybe Micky Dyer also, that could go either way in terms of scoring but Im reasonably hopefull of a score somewhere round the 40pts mark.
  13. Bit of a wet day in Berwick today, first half of the day anyway, though it is brighter now.Forecast for tonight is theres a chance of a shower but the secong half of the night should be dry. Tomorrow the forecast is good, dry with some long spells of sunshine. You think, hang on silly me yes you would think that,we`ve carried a rider or riders far to often this season and currently we sit bottom of the PL,yes we`ve had injuries and lots of them, the fact remains we need all our riders chipping in with points if we are to climb the PL.
  14. If that saves Glasgow Speedway would that be a bad thing,Peter kept Berwick going for ten years, yes there were mistakes along the way,but he brought silverware to Berwick and finished as high as second, not such a bad achievement IMO.
  15. With Somerset so understrength maybe they can use the tactical call off,Im sure other tracks have done so in the past.
  16. Thats hardly a boast, but your right. Edberg had a few decent scores,as did Tomicek at times of course.
  17. This could be to close to call,Morris is an excellent choice of guest but our reserves look weak, and its anyones guess as to how our new signing will go on his 1st trip to Shielfield. Berwick 45 Leicester 45.
  18. Nicki Pedersen Tomasz Gollob Greg Hancock Andreas Jonsson
  19. Wonder if Mr Kasprazak will be joining us though, theres bound to be a few angry fans in the Poole area after his no show at Swindon if he does.
  20. But will his retirement be for keeps, maybe we will see Frampton back somewhere or other before the season ends.
  21. In a sport where team strengths are governed by averages,Id say its worth more than a toss.
  22. Giving his showing last night I wouldnt wish that on the Rye House team.
  23. Not sure Klings ever been to Berwick before.
  24. Middlo has every right to be a bit miffed at Woffinden, the rider claims that he doesnt want to be racing every day while he makes his comeback from injury, though he finds it ok to go jet skiing, maybe he doesnt want to race for and against his countrymen all at the same time.
