Now that Lawrence Rogers has stepped down, will all those on here, who wanted him replaced, do likewise from this forum if results don't instantly improve?

What a strange take. He clearly made some odd decisions (especially Sedgmen), and can therefore see why some Birmingham fans were asking for him to be replaced. Those strange decisions didn't cost Birmingham matches, but they certainly didn't help either. Results aren't going to instantly improve, but every little helps, no?

Some time out will probably do Rogers some good as well, and I hope he makes a swift recovery.

Stuart won't come cheap that's for sure.

Hopefully he can kick Morris up his backside and Sedgeman and Thompson family trust him to get best out of their lads.

Badly needed.

Wish Laurence a speedy recovery. I know he was in agony with hips b4 an operation a couple of years ago and I think had a heart scare some years back.

Keyboard warriors see occasional team manager issues. They don't see countless hours paperwork and organising as Promoter.

Masons used to rely on him massively due to geography and Tolley has a business to run. Laurence does 7 days a week and a job not just racedays.

Stuart won't come cheap that's for sure.

Hopefully ha can kick Morris up his backside and Sedgeman and Thompson family trust him to get best out of their lads.

Saw him recently at the Grasstrack at Dalton Barracks, handing out Brummies leaflets

Having worked reasonably closely with Laurence for nearly a decade, the work he does for a club behind the scenes is nothing short of staggering. Yes, he'll get things wrong occasionally but I don't see anyone banging the door down to step into his shoes and do it better. Like Vatcher, one of the most loyal and undervalued men in speedway.

Fair play to Tolley for trying to keep the fans happy but it feels like the tail is wagging the dog....

He used sedgemen as a tac sub in the rider rep spot in heat 5

sedgemrn could have ridden as the rider rep when sedgemen had fallen off on the second bend of his first ride. Should have used Morris ad the rider rep, thus keeping sedgemen for a rider rep ride later in the meeting. This would then have meant you could cover the rider rep rides with Morris sedgemen, Bowtell snd mountain, snd not  use the reserves who were way, way off the pace then came out with a ridiculous story to justify his actions which only served to make him look even dafter

it would have also preserved the tac sub tide ( which were obviously going to be able to use later), thus giving Morris or maybe sedgemen another extra ride

for the first time ever, the match report on the official club website called him out over this and was clearly critical.  That says it all !!! Never seen that before and I’ve been a fan sine the 70’s

The problem with this analysis is Morris wasn't eligible to take a rider replacement ride.

No , but by giving him the tac sub ride in heat five, it kept the better riders for the remaining rider rep rides snd got your number one another rider

what does it say to  your number one when you don’t use him , especially against the opposition number one.

this is just one of a multitude of tactical errors we’ve been subjected to

If a ship has been steered into an iceberg sacking the captain or not, its still likely to sink.  The Directors appear to have relied to heavily on LR up to this point and have graciously let him go.  What it takes for Brum to get out of the mess doesn't matter as long as it happens.

Rogers hasn't been 'let go'!! He is now 'General Manager and Director of Speedway' at Perry Barr.

May be Laurence could return to Plymouth, wasn't he there for a while? as  newTM?

Considering Garry May is making a bigger pigs ear out of a far stronger looking top 5 and letting Bowtell leave.

Oh the irony.

Will have to get to Perry Barr early to get a parking space for the next meeting, versus Berwick due to the hundreds of returnees who have been staying away .

At least,If it’s sold out and you cannot get in,you can return home and watch it on BSN.

The irony you make me laugh you were moaning. About people saying things about mark Phillips and he is Garry’s boss.Garry can’t do anything without his say so.

Looking at the Birmingham team, they're only one or two riders short of a decent team. I'd think Morris and Sedgemen are decent heat leaders, Alfie at two looked pretty handy when I saw him racing at Glasgow. Where they are lacking is a strong 3 to pair up with Dan Thompson. And Maybe a stronger 6 to go with Little P, who also looks good up against a lot of the other number 7's in the country.

Maybe if they had a strong third heat leader it would keep the meeting closer and maybe give the rest of the team the drive to push harder.

Whens Zaine Kennedy due back on a bike?

Dillon Rhuml?
