You`d like to think he has remorse for his crimes and victims and has been rehabilitated to be able to contribute to society. Bottom line is no team will touch him at the minute, giving to negative publicity his signature would create. Well, not exactly “done the time” as he’s back out on licence. And, from the quotes from the SS article, he’s now changed the story of his offences. Anyway, I’m sure some well meaning team will take him on, maybe one known for unusual signings, who are rumoured to be signing another rider with a tortured past? Don't think anyone will have a tortured past like the 🤡 garrity and put away for the crimes 😡 Edited Saturday at 01:29 PM by Neila Update
WookieboyDon
Absolute lying scumbag. Vile piece of sh*t. Any team taking him on deserves all they will inevitably get.

Nothing compared to the crimes of James Purchase and Jerran Hart in more recent years relating to speedway riders, they both carried on after being at her majesty's pleasure without much objection from anyone. Dave67
Let's hope he gets the chance to race somewhere & earn a living. Hopefully he can turn his life around & make a contribution to society as opposed to falling back into crime & drug abuse & continuing to be a burden on the tax payer.

He had the chance before and blew it. Including when he stole other riders possessions from changing rooms. Leopards don’t normally change their spots and he will prove this once again. Anyone who takes him on has got to be desperate.
Dave67
The alternative in not allowing him to do what he plainly has a skill for is to assign him to the scrapheap, which only increases the chances he'll relapse & end up back on drugs & no doubt crime to support that habit. Better to give him the opportunity to redeem himself, become a useful & contributing member of society & if that means he gets the opportunity to race speedway again, that is the right thing to do, IMHO.

Let him/her/they/them, without sin cast the first stone. Not condoning anything he has done. Can anyone with hand on heart say they have never been given a second chance?

Prison is there to punish and rehabilitate. He's done his time, now we've got to hope the rehabilitation works. He has experience in two things - Speedway and crime. If we don't want him to return to crime, we need to push him down the path of an honest future. Sadly it seems the "Holier Than Thou" brigade want to push him down a path of crime, so they can say "I was right".
WookieboyDon
Unbelievable that people have already been sucked into his blatant lies in Speedway Star about how “nobody was at home during these crimes.” Absolute bullsh*t. He pleaded guilty to exactly what he was charged with, which was robbing the elderly at knife point IN THEIR HOMES. One of those was an elderly lady on a mobility scooter who he followed home. Great start by someone who wants forgiveness…lying about your crimes.

We maybe struggling to complete the team, but we are not that hard up. From what comments I'm hearing from several fans, if this 🤡 was signed they would not go to speedway and some have not missed a home meeting since the 70s

speedwaysliders
When Garrity went public and made that video about what he did the first time around when he came out of prison does anyone know how close he came returning to speedway racing with getting his bikes ready etc /contract talks?!!! Maybe the bikes were there before he got taken back in,but if they were not its a massive ask to get up and running .
