SCB STATEMENT: WORKINGTON SPEEDWAY

Thursday July 10, 2025
scb.jpg
The members of the Speedway Control Bureau are delighted at the outcome of the Workington situation and would like to thank all concerned with those persons connected with keeping the club in the league for the remainder of the 2025 season.

However, as with any other sport there are Regulations to abide by and in fairness to all the other clubs in the Championship League the Workington club did breach the Regulations. therefore as per the 2025 SCB Regulations have been deducted 2 (two) Championship League points.

It doesn't say which regulation has been breached though.

It definitely should.  Know I’m an absolute bore but there should be no assumptions or guesses on this. I know speedway is worse than the masons for secrets but the SCB should be 100% transparent otherwise how can there be parity in speedway.

I would assume it would be under regulation

010.1.2 Completion of Fixtures

It is the duty of the staging Promotion to ensure that all fixtures are completed and in the event of it being necessary to re-arrange a team fixture, the Promoter(s)/Associate(s) shall mutually agree a re-staging date. Should they fail to agree the sole authority to specify a date and/or venue for the re-staging shall lie with the BSP LTD Directors.

In all events that count towards an Official British Speedway Competition the Regulations must be adhered to and any team or individual found in breach of the Regulations, will be liable to a penalty including the loss of league points or removal from a competition.

No it doesn't !. In the interests of SCB credibility and transparency it most definitely should.

Quote the regulation you are using please with an explanation as to why/how this speedway regulation was broken.

Have you bought a ticket? You must make sure it's in your name. I haven't yet received a reply but I'm sure it's just down to... administrative issues

Its fair to say most members on this forum would like to know which rule was broken and how . Must have been pretty bad for a 2 week suspension and 2 point deduction. Don't think Worky would have any objection to discloure.
