Also heard he has new machinery. The cynical in me wonders if he's using his old machinery for champ rides. This is just a hunch based on nothing but speculation. Lawson is very Professional how he approaches the sport to make money and is very organised .Some riders think the answer is to ride as much as possible and make money without the organisation and mechanical set-up in place.IMO.

Hits the nail on the head. Riders like Cook / Brennan / Kerr upgrade to either new specialist tuned or ex GP tuned engines and hey presto, they struggle as haven't a clue where the sweet spot in the highly tuned engine is. Whereas solid pro's like Lawson probably invest in one new (but used) engine a season, use 1-2-3 year old engines, standard Tuners not costly uber light expensive stuff and their engines hit the sweet spot 8 / 10 not like rocket ships occasionally but unrideable just as often. Familiarity and sticking to what you know more often than not the best course!

lewy
I think Poole could bring in ben cook and cairns in a double change for starke and kerr. 2

Would Ben not come in on a converted Premiership average, after all that was what happened when we got Anders Rowe last year

Averages don't fit either way, aside from his or his Polish club's views. When Ben is fit to resume racing he'll be at reserve for KL so will likely be getting more rides. Bitza
I've been trying to make up my mind about Kerr, on the plus side he has shown he can be a racer which is always good to watch but he doesn't seem to have the outright speed. I think he should take note of Ritchings approach/preparation and subsequent success. Kerr needs to acknowledge that he needs to be better, to start with he could take some time to test his bikes, looking for improvements no matter how minor, because a number small improvements can add up to something significant. I still think Kerr has the potential to come good, but he'll have to put the effort in.

You say Kerr is a racer but doesnt seem to make many passes, if he gates he is ok but he certainly seems to lack speed and I am not sure he will come good, maybe a change of riding order could help. As many have said Rowe is the second best rider we have so he should be at 5 with Kerr at 3.

I did not say it was a disgusting performance but I am disappointed he cant maintain his average from last season.

His GSA was 7.76 when you signed him. He had a season in 24 affected by injury, and his GSA was dropping. in the 13 meetings he rode in, he actually only averaged 7.09. He's not far off of that now, and it's on the up.
