old bob at herne bay
Ah that worked... ill try again . Pooles Ford/Muddleditch surprised me by choosing steady Starke whos peedway carer has peaked, against the much liked and entertaining Fooord who surely is an improving rider . Maybe Ford didnt like the way Vincent splet his name ?

If so fantastic from Poole to potentially have Rushen and Cairns next season on a combined average of 4. cairns could be higher should he ride enough meetings which you’d expect him to do this season

Dickie Head
I think the loss of Birmingham and the rumoured loss of Oxford and Sheffield from the Premiership at the end of this season will adversely impact Poole’s (as yet unconfirmed but likely) desire to run a 2026 team with Cairns, Rushen and Bailey. Surely some drastic restructuring will be forced onto British speedway for next year with an equalisation amongst all those sides who opt in. ASpeedwayfan
Well far too early to start the 2026 thread……but! Lawson 9ish rowe 8ish cairns between 2 and 4 Rushen 2 bailey 4 or 5 Would leave Poole sitting very nicely for the remaining 2 riders, could probably fit Zach and Thompson. Got to say if Beau Bailey and Rushen are signed along with Rowe and Cairns who signed 2 year contracts (not that that means they are guaranteed to be back) Lawson you would expect to also return means that would be an exciting 5 riders to start the season with. Would likely have Zach back meaning the last rider would be the only one who might not already been signed up already!

Zach wants to follow his brother and get a full time Polish team contract, so may make a similar decision about Championship racing- assuming any changes to the British racing structure allow it. The issue Zach has is that he’s not at the level his brother is, Ben improved year on year where as Zach has stagnated slightly in the team now, really wanted him to kick and thought he could make that number 5 jacket his, however truth be told he’s closer to being the number 4 than a 5. I don’t think Zach is will find Poland as easy as Ben did, hopefully Zach does as id love to see him do well

If this happens pretty sure they will go with one top league with 2 home and 2 away a higher team ave and maybe a stronger NL for teams that maybe can’t afford or manage the extra fixtures

Starke's inclusion meant this was no longer an NDL meeting, and so would have to be classed as a Championship standard meeting. Riders have to be 16 to ride in a Championship standard meeting, but Cooper Rushen rode at age 15. Thank god there was no serious accident, or there would have been one hell of a problem with the insurers. Can't believe Vatcher allowed this to go ahead. Starke would be eligible for the NDL/NDT if he didn't have a Champ spot. Maybe that could be the reason given for him being allowed to ride? He's in a similar situation to Ben Morley, if Morley signed for a Champ team, he'd have to give up his NDT team spot. Maybe that's the logic if Morley can ride, Starke can too?
