Great signing, I hope Ashton can take time out and rediscover his form from last year, no doubt that he is a talent but there are issues he must overcome if he wants to make it in speedway. There have been a few very talented youngsters been lost to the sport, the question is, do we put too much pressure on them at the beginning of their career? Should they continue to do NDL for longer before stepping up a league? I do think that they shouldn't be rising stars in Premiership until they are fairly established in championship. Championship should have British youngsters at reserve and not foreigners, that is just my opinion, I expect to be shot down for my comments, but I am a speedway fan not just a supporter of my team.

Glasgows to lose now.

Great signing, magical what you can do to fit UK into your when a few extra pennies are coming your way.

You don’t sound bitter at all.

No sir definitely not you.

No bitterness in your post whatsoever.

You can see that you are delighted about this signing and you are just coming across as bitter.

Great rider who’ll easily score more than his average. Should walk the league now.

Not bitter just very easy to get who you want when you don’t really have a budget.

Seems Ben Basso had a word regarding the club which obviously helps.

A special mention has to go Ashton Boughen who was a victim of his own success.

To find yourself in the main body of a Championship side at 17 years-old, having only taken up the sport three years ago, is remarkable progress.

Seeing him almost lap (exaggeration, of course) Chris Harris at Ashfield last season - less than three weeks after his 17th birthday - was the biggest “giant killing” I’ve ever seen. Bigger than Powell versus Hamill and Hancock at Shawfield in ‘95.

I think @IainB was spot on when he said Boughen is trying to run before he can walk. Fortunately, he has time on his hands and lots of it to fulfil what is evidently a huge amount of potential.

All the best Ashton.

Always good to see someone new in the championship. Never seen him on track, so July 2nd will be interesting. Assuming Denmark still have a break in July?

Looks like his Danish club Grindsted have a home fixture on 2nd July!!😄

While there are a few Aussie-born "Brits" at reserve for Championship teams -- who would presumably be allowed to continue under your suggestion -- the only true foreigner who is currently  running at reserve is Francis Gusts at Oxford.      So it isn't just as bad a situation as some might suggest.

However, I agree with your point -- riders at reserve in a Championship team should be British, or at least should be qualified to race at NDL level.

It's funny that people have demanded for years that PL reserve spots should be for Brits, now we've effectively got that and they don't even realise it.

Even funnier is that the one foreign reserve - Gusts - has just qualified for the GP Challenge and yet Oxford aren't absolutely nailed on to win the league. How can your team have a rider of such ability at reserve - at this level - and still not do anything?

Think you will find that Ashton had been on Motorcycles from a young age.
