RS50
First reaction is that the team is now weaker. Replacing Hume, makes us slightly stronger, but is more than offset by the downgrade from Woffy. Still not sure if there were any better options. Lindgren or Lambert do sound better, but may not be available.
TTT
Had a feeling I'd be right on the replacements as they were two Championship HL's without a Premiership spot. Replacing Hume was a no brainer but Sheffield really did need a strong No.4 in the process. Picko has to be flawless on the road as well now though and do the job Tai would have done. spin king
This shows that for now there are no big names ready to come over and ride in the UK. Maybe later someone may decide to come over and take up a place. But the Holder boys and Picko so far this season have started the season strong, and the team changes now sees Anders Rowe drop to reserve. Both Sedgy and Kerr have rode for the club before. Does it make us weaker as team quite possibly, but I think whatever the changes it was probably going to make us weaker. Steve Irving
I’m not sure it makes a big difference. I like Hume the boy is a trier, but he’s probably the weakest number 6 in the league and would score next to nothing on the road. You’re obviously getting the trade off at the other end with Kerr or Sedgmen replacing Woffinden, but you’re also getting Rowe back down at reserve which strengthens that area considerably. The original line up looked unbalanced to me and not many Sheffield supporters were full of optimism judging by the predictions thread. This looks a much better balanced team to me
Manifesto
I expected Kerr and Worrall myself but the management have likely gone with the best options they had available. Kerr can perform at number 2 in the team if he gets his gating gloves on, Sedgy will drop to reserve once averages change and he will be a big improvement on Hume. big pressure on Picko to keep up the good start he’s had to the season. I still see us easily making play offs

DJC
They have to be commended on moving so fast to make sure they’ve got a full 7 but how Kerr is still getting a spot in the top league is beyond me. Im still shocked that Poole went for him. Both will need a replacement by the end of May when he’s inevitably on the sidelines but as others have said it shows how hard it is to bring riders over. what happened to the Ukrainian lad that was said to be working in London? spin king junior
Absolutely makes us weaker but I'd rather us make a change rather than running rr for most the season. Must Absolutely be slim pickings and a bit disappointing that we've gone way under limit which will get taken up by Rowe once he's on his real average. But it is what it is, should be fine round Owlerton but I reckon we'll suffer on the road.
RS50
Before Woffy was injured we may have looked like a team with four heat leaders and three reserves. Now it looks like three heat leaders and four reserves.

Rowe has looked far better than a reserve as I expected he would, Flint has held his own as rising star (which we didn’t have last year), Sedgy and Kerr more than capable of scoring 10-11 points between them at Owlerton which is around what Tai and Hume would of returned. We have lost a huge rider and personality in woffy but we have to be real about the situation. If we can stay strong at home and pick up those bonus points that’s all that matters
JamesB
I have some sympathy with the Tigers fans losing one of your top riders right at the start of the season. As others have said, the options were probably very limited. I would expect them to still be strong and hard to beat at home but may struggle on the road. Sedgmen was woeful at Foxhall last week. GeneralMelchett
On the day both can be very good round Owlerton so it makes sense in a way to bring them in, I don't see Sheffield not getting to the playoffs and a lot can happen between now and Sept. Overall weaker for sure but overall probably the correct thing to do!
Wollyhat
Feel so sorry for Danyon. He never had a chance to show us what he could do. He is such a loverly man but possibly does not have the killer instinct for top flight speedway. I hope it comes together for him at Berwick. Welcome to Justin and Louis, lets see what you can do. Gavan
Stronger initially as Rowe will get 7 rides maybe once he moves up then that’s where the problems lie Still strong enough to make top 4 with ease

szkocjasid
Can anyone explain how Anders Rowe's average has changed? He had a 3.91 average for April, so should be at reserve with the double changes, but he's listed in the top 5! The only thing I can think of, is that because they've redeclared the team his 25% reduction is no longer used? Is that a rule? Would it make a difference if it was a Brit with a 2.5% reduction? Edit: just noticed Lewis Kerr finished 2024 on 4.89 but starts 2025 on 4.77. So can someone explain why he gets a reduction but Rowe does not? So as things stand it appears every single non "RS" Brit in the Prem has an average reduction, except for Anders Rowe!
