Mencel wins a ballot to qualify or as we call it in Speedway you're Polish you win.

Ah, so that's how Janowski got through to the semi finals at Cardiff last year then (or did that not count).

Mencel gets the 4th place, what a disgrace of a system.

The actual Championship has been decided on ballot in the past, so no surprise to see this tonight.

... and even that coin toss for the world title was then won by a Pole (Kasprzak)

KK certainly was a tosser at times 😜

That was decided on FIM rank. Not sure why they didn't do that tonight - would've gone to Nagel on that basis, I think.

I think that would be a really bad idea, a 16 year old in his first season would be hindered if ranked below riders who were old enough to ride last season.

I'm not sure how I'd decide it, but a ballot should NEVER be the answer.

Why when Lambert and Janowski had beat 2 of the other tied riders and Vaculik and Bewley had only beat 1.

Head to head was in the rules last year.

Exactly and as you wanted 3 you then went to who beat who between Vaculik and Bewley. Sorted in 10 minutes at the most !

But to be fair he did end up a slightly better rider than Suchanek

Not always though! One of the most stylish riders I've seen... when he was in the mood

Let's talk about Patricia "Paddy" Erhart!

Here is a facebook reel of her SGP2 performance last night in Glasgow

https://www.facebook.com/reel/1643640163021869

I like the opening picture of Paddy with Dan Bewley. What a lovely couple

What do You guys think about her? She scored two points, she beat Alex Adamson and Otto Raak.

I thought she did herself proud. Her gating was the main thing that let her down, once she was racing she seemed pretty competitive, and certainly not afraid to race/pass. It makes more sense after reading that she was somewhat hesitant due to the conditions. There have been worse U21 riders in the past.

Hopefully she gets more chances to improve.
