Plymouth v Oxford - 19th April BSN

Recommended Posts

Here we go then, the new season kicks off at the Colisseum with the visit of Oxford. Always a good fixture between these two clubs. Interesting to see how the track rides after the winter renovations. Back straight widened by 2m so should provide more space for better racing.

Interesting to see how this Plymouth side goes, I've got a little feeling we might be changing a view early season opinions as the year goes on

Plymouth have posted to say the fixture this evening is ON. It's been a torrid 24 hours weather wise. Still damp this morning but they seem upbeat and confident. Obviously plenty of people on here keen for this fixture...

Could be another long season for Plymouth, expected better from Klindt .

Apparently the only one not wearing  a Plymouth race suit, that sounds ominous

Mitch did well, wasn't expecting that. Group just got more interesting! Was expecting a small Plymouth win tbh.

I think Poole will romp the group. This result does mean Oxford have a chance of best second place though.

Looks like Barker went missing too in the big heats 13 and 15.

Remember he's only a 6 points rider. Got a tough gig at number 5.

For Plymouth to avoid the wooden spoon needs to find his form of a few years ago. Lot of pressure on him imo.

Great all round team effort from the Cheetahs, Masters never troubled, Knudsen very impressive, would have been unbeaten but for a fall in heat 1, and McDiarmid showed there's definitely a rider there on a tricky Plymouth circuit where so many struggle. Everybody chipped in which is what we will need going forward.

Same old Plymouth, they sign a "big name" rider and then fill in the numbers. It hasn't worked up to now and it doesn't look any different this season.

Barker and Klindt are one trick ponies. Barker round the outside,Klindt from the gate. Neither are as good as they think they are or once were.

The good points were Lasse, Alfie and Joe all who held their own. Cluff didn't beat anyone and Trigger looked as nervous as sh@t. Given the comments from management towards him that's hardly surprising.

Let's wait and see.
