Was a time on a Bank Holiday Monday it be a bumper crowd -

And well done Birmingham

There was at Foxhall three weeks ago, best guess would be about 4000.

It’s a funny old game. Win away at Ipswich and then lose at home to Birmingham a few days later.

Track was dire, has been since BTFC Lion stopped doing it last year.

Thanks for the mention, track curator is the dirtiest hardest job in speedway,

Dry dusty, to wet, not enough material,  to much material,  you use your experience to try and get it right, you think you have cracked it, then it bites right on the arse.

Couldn’t agree more! Helped out myself in the past. On a hiding to nothing really.

Can I interest anybody in a league sponsorship package? This is what you get for your money.

Things seem to have been a bit slap dash at Leicester recently, I thought those days were behind us.

The reasons the advertising signs were down today was due to the wind the track staff stood them up at least twice that I saw even moving bricks to help  but they kept blowing down .

You have to remember for safety they have to be lightweight aluminium frames with canvas

It was clear today that the track needed a final watering before heat 1. Tbf Stewart Dickson was very honest in his interview on socials after the meeting.

Was gonna say the same. He held his hands up and admitted he got it wrong so fair play to him for that. His honesty was refreshing.

I have said it before , daytime meetings on uk tracks are always a disaster . Track material  just cannot hold enough water. A sunny or windy day and ithe track will be like a dusty road.

The only track that I have seen raceable in daytime conditions was Arlington - where the late Bob Dugard literally flooded the track before start time and the track material used had good water retention.

Yes he was  honest and open in the interview.

To try and answer you observation about watering before ht1,

This is only a guess as I do not know, but many times in the past after track walks riders request no more water, if you have attended lots of meetings at Leicester you may of noticed me waiting at the pit gate after track walks, then Stewart would pass on the info, a bit more around the outside of the bends or 2 laps the whole track or none at all.

Another factor would be the strong possibility of rain , i think it was ment to arrive around 2pm, but can never be definite on timing,  so you trust the weather apps, go out and water, then you look stupid if the rain comes early, and then the meeting get abandoned.

I thought Kemp locked up right in front of him... from what I saw through the dust.

Kemp did lock up in front of him and the ref made the decision having watched a reply.
