I mean Boughen would have a 10.54 NL average, can't see how clubs would fit him in, especially with the points limit being 38. But as his average is above 4, don't think he could double up anyway (still has a team spot with Lynn)?

Glasgow should walk the league with him in the side. The new Taresenko then?

Boughen has missed out on his Speedway education starting so late. Watching the SGP3 this afternoon and some of the first turns were brutal with the kids not frightened to get their elbows out. Boughen has missed out on all this. Edited Friday at 10:17 PM by IainB

Boughen has missed out on all this. Boughen didn't ride NDL last year, so would be on his converted Champ ave. I'd day there's zero chance they would reassess a rider unless he's been away from Speedway for years. Ideally he should've had a NDL & Champ season in 2024, with a view of a RS spot in 2025. To me he took a risk turning his back on Oxford to go to Glasgow, like Poole they are a club who are ruthless when they want to improve the team. Not saying that's a bad thing, but other clubs who are perhaps not so used to winning will give riders more time.

There needs to be a cap on what clubs are offering these young riders ( wage wise ) as there getting top dollar money but aren't delivering ( some of them ) & yet a rider who's got years of experience behind... Not mentioning any names had to drop out of racing in the NDL as he was only offered a pittance... The speedway game in the UK is dying big time ... & I've supported the sport for over 50 years but it's on the big decline sadly

Be honest if a rider has a choice of riding at a proper speedway track or ......... what do you seriously think they'd do?
Gazc Posted yesterday at 06:51 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:51 AM (edited) Are all the what we are paying signing on fee posts above all accurate. I’m going out on a limb here and say it’s opinion rather than fact. what Glasgow do is for the best for Glasgow, what Glasgow pay is what they deem they can pay. Was painful watching Ashton at the first bends shutting off I guess as I don’t have any facts on this like other posters loll that for his own good and the team collective it had to happen. Best off luck to the kid he has talent but needs to get to the root cause of this first bend issue or he isn’t going to succeed at Speedway. Ruined the league ? Seriously? Am I missing something here ? What's the point of entering a competition if you don't use every tool at your disposal to try and win it ?

Maybe they just use better equipment there as harder to keep their spot. You would think they would want to keep their Championship spot too and if struggling at that level use the better gear there.
