I agree and that’s what makes it worse. These tracks have been about for years (not Leicester granted) and provided good racing so why aren’t they now? We go on about bikes etc but there are several tracks of differing sizes and shapes that still provide good racing though all bar one are in lower leagues. I just feel if the desire was there tracks could provide more entertainment. If the desire isn’t there then they should be forced.

"Tigers gated! Fricke burst between them off b2, and Howarth didn't take long to get ahead of Sedgmen". So lets break the statement down Quote Fricke burst between them . Them is a plural therefore Fricke would have been behind both of them, so that two riders passed. Quote Howarth didn't take long to get ahead of Sedgeman The implication of this is that at some stage Howarth was behind Sedgeman. So that is also a pass. Therefore it is safe to say that there was three passes in Heat Six alone last Monday at Leicester. 1

I mark my programme when a pass occurs after bend 3 lap 1 as I’ve always though any passes before then was just riders sorting themselves out off the start line. I can see other fans being happy with the race being settled within 6/7 seconds but it’s not for me. Apologies for putting my thoughts into the heads of other fans and enjoy your speedway - well the first bit anyway.

I'd say anything after L1B2

I think this system would work: No passes recorded lap 1 as they are sorting themselves out. None on lap 2 as they are just getting settled into the rhythm of the race after sorting themselves out. Lap 3 we can count passes, hurrah! Lap 4 doesn't count, as by then some riders give up on the last two bends so it can't be a genuine pass. Forthwith all programs to have a column to mark when authorised passes occur, so the 100 or so fans packing out the NSS can have something else to do when Kurtz is half the circuit ahead of the rest, again 😁

I'd like to think a barrister's grammar would be better than that! Actually I did watch this one, thinking that the track alterations had made for better racing. They haven't........... (and before anybody comes at me... I used to be a member of that brigade before I weaned myself off of them 😝) Edited June 17 by IainB

I keep the dust off them by covering them in speedway anoraks weighed down by badges. 🤣
