4thbender
Luke Becker and Josh Pickering are the latest PL riders to be sidelined through "crashes in Poland". Seems to me there is a great temptation for PL riders to make the weekly Sunday schlep to collect their share of the Polish Zloty on offer, but an unwelcome number are failing to return 'in one piece'. Poland seems to bear a disproportionate responsibility for the decimation of available PL talent.
IainB
But on the other hand Ben Cook injured at King's Lynn and Jason Doyle ended his season also at King's Lynn last year. Edited Monday at 11:51 AM by IainB

And both riders are on record saying it was pilot error and not track related. Makes little difference anyway, Poland do what they like and don't care about other speedway nations.

It wasn't a pop at King's Lynn... maybe I should have said UK 🇬🇧
Gavan
Emil horror crash at Sheffield as well…Dan Thompson crash at Glasgow …. Danny King last season at Redcar I don’t think it’s just Poland Polish tracks are faster and the racing more competitive with in a lot of races all 4 can win the heat At Belle Vue as good as the track is you could have Bewley Mulford Doyle and Jenkins in a race and that would be two separate races meaning less chance of a fall

mikebv
Poland's meetings have jeopardy and consequence... Neither is applicable in the UK... Hence, they pay the big bucks, expecting riders to go that extra few yards.. Four riders can often contest a first turn, and even a full race.. Not something so usual, (outside of the play offs), over here...

Speedway tends to.be same nearly everywhere.. the race is over after the second bend and riders way apart from each other for the rest of the race . I watched Gps and meetings in Poland and they are the same 90 % of the time..another Speedway myth

Most races in Poland in the top league have at least three riders within 10 yards of each other over four laps and four when a top talent is riding as a junior.. And heat 15's can be truly spectacular, regardless of the result impacting the scoreline.. £1000 pound a poinr, with a six figure up front payment, focuses the mind..

No what focuses the mind is things like being deducted £5000 by the club for your mechanic not having the right shirt on or not having a extraleague sticker in the right place on the back doors of your van or being late for a practice or not attending a school to give a chat to local kids, the list is very long and the total of your pay packet often doesn’t match what you scored , it’s called discipline and it focuses the mind
