Not quite factual. If Matt and Mike were around in those days maybe terms would have been a lot different.

They would like to widen the track onto the old dog track, but when your landlord won't give you more than 1 year at a time it would be financial suicide to do so. If the track was extended onto the old dog track, even by say 2m it would make a big difference to the racing. Maybe the way forward should be for Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch Council to think BIG and look to develop Wimborne Road, into a national speedway stadium. OK I'm dreaming!
poole keith
I said it was speedways own fault,no comment on any particular promotion, could extend it to say its british speedways own fault we've lost so many stadiums.I take a monthly steam magazine interesting article recently saying many british steam and vintage rallies were struggling financially due to higher costs particularly rents they compared it to USA and Australia where 30or 40 yrs ago they had a policy of using profits to purchase and develop there own showgrounds so now they are healthy and have no rent or landlords.british speedway (and some fans haha)always make excuses and blame someone or something else. Some Poole fans on here instinctively jump to defend the club in the face of the slightest criticism when this time they should surely agree it would be great to own or have a long lease on our own stadium and it's a shame someone didn't have the foresight to do this year's ago

foreverblue
I watched the Oxford meeting on tv last night and although there did not seem to be much material on the track it seemed to produce a decent meeting racing wise so is it the apparent lack of material at Poole the problem? Surely if just more material produced better racing then it would be done. Edited July 8 by foreverblue

Still didn't think there was anymore overtaking than what we had at Poole last Wednesday, in fact probably less , the score line kept it interesting though

When we lose at home it seems far more interesting for the average viewer on tv.
