What about Northampton?

Northampton best chance would be to run Sunday afternoons in the national league, allowing people to travel.

Personally I think the only chance Northampton would have of making a proper go of it is if the Save Coventry Crew (speedway side not stocks) were prepared to consider that if they ever gave up on Brandon

The save Coventry crew won't be running the speedway though Cedric from Poole will be and I can't see him being interested in Northampton or surely he would have already done something.

I doubt Sunday would be an option with stock cars and bangers running regular Sunday meetings throughout the year. As they also run some Saturday nights on other weekends, there wouldn't be enough time to prep the track for those Sundays either.

Northampton and wider Northamptonshire like Kettering,Corby,Wellingborough have huge Eastern European populations so the hope may be to have a couple of Polish riders in the home team will encourage them to travel

Peterborough has a large Polish population and Mick Bratley went to the city Polish club and gave away free tickets for Panthers at the Showground. He reported that one person took up the offer, so good luck with that?

Anyone else hearing that Northampton will be joining the 2026 Premiership with owners new to promoting speedway?

Who ever takes it on is taking a massive risk, I'm all for new tracks but this is going to be very difficult to get a regular fan base crowd. Its not that close to Northampton.

Its not that far away either, ten minutes from the town centre.

What might well prove difficult is getting Coventry or P'boro speedway fans there regularly as its an hour to both cities. I wish whoever takes it on the very best and hope it succeeds.

New owners maybe.
But rules say two years before they can directly promote. So the question is who would the promoters be.
