eide67
For the second home match running Monarchs face a big name rider returning to the sport after some time out. And like Scott Nicholls, Nick Morris has always been comfortable riding Armadale and has been one of the top visiting riders to the West Lothian track. Will he hit the ground running or take some time to settle back. The betting must surely be on the latter given the amount of time he has not been riding. Bandits other recent signing, Jonas Jeppesen, makes his Armadale debut and it will be interesting to see how he takes to the tight confines of the track. So, with some question marks over the visitors and with the home side returning from a confidence boosting win at Scunthorpe, I'm going for a reasonably comfortable home win. Teams from Edinburgh website: Friday 1st August: Edinburgh Monarchs v Berwick Bandits (Championship), Armadale, 7:30pm STELLAR MONARCHS: Victor Palovaara, Paco Castagna (Capt.), Justin Sedgmen, Kye Thomson, Michael Palm Toft, Jonatan Grahn, Jordy Loftus. R.E.D. BANDITS: Nick Morris, Sam Hagon, Jonas Jeppesen, Drew Kemp, Peter Kildemand, Dayle Wood, Jack Smith.
Mr Blobby
Tonight is quite simply a must win and must take the bonus point. Berwick have a couple of handy riders round the dale. Jeppesen is an unknown and unsure how Morris will go with him just coming back.
RyeHouseLucas
I think the Bandits will run it close, reserves will play a heavy part in tonight, I'd expect Wood and Smith to score a few more points tonight.

I wouldn’t they should only have the beating of Jordy.

Smith has had some good performances but, and I’m really not someone to criticise riders because I couldn’t do it. But he just isn’t consistent I think at the risk of being torn a new on. We should have stuck with borke. At least even with the injury was on the up. Smith is a journeyman reserve. The promotion have done an incredible job fixing the main team but we have lost a lot of meetings at the bottom end.

szkocjasid
On paper you wouldn't expect any of Berwick's bottom 3 to beat any of Edinburgh's top 6. It's Berwick's top 4 that need to get the points to get a result imo
IainB
It's a shame for Nick Moorish that Monarchs no longer ride at Powderhall 🤔
Bandit59
Keeps Edinburgh playoffs contenders, Berwick no chance now.
Mgas
Well done Edinburgh, from a bandits perspective well done PK and Kemp. Beyond that I’ve not got much positive to say so I won’t.
LisaColette
Anyone thinking Morris was just going to rock up and score 8-10 points with no competitive racing for 2 years is living in dreamland. Was always going to be more 3-5.

JanAndersen
The Berwick 5-1 made it a bit unnecessarily edgy in the middle of the meeting but a couple of class rides from Sedgmen sorted it out. I’ve been as critical as anyone of Kye Thomson but it’s absolutely brilliant to see aggression back in his riding. A real bonus in the second half of the season. Didn't think he'd score 8-10 points thought he'd get about 6 it's the reserves that keep getting outscored
