Lenny Lion
3 hours ago, tellboy said: Whilst the track surface at Leicester isn't bad,the prep is.No thought for the fans last night at all, probably just for the home riders.Billows of dust from lap one to the last lap of heat 15.Could not see half the racing due to this.I think I used more water in the shower when I got home than what they put down on the track. That really did need a serious watering last night, but if that's what they want to suit the home team then so be it. Tellboy what meeting did you attend last night because I was on bend 2 for the whole meeting and at no point was there excessive dust so I could not see the racing proven back by also watching the video’s back online there was never any dust to effect viewing . There was no more then any other track I have visited this season or in previous seasons.

Fair enough, I don't know of any riders complaining about it either, it does have an adverse effect on viewing though imo.
siggysigalos
Congrats to Leicester on winning the KO Cup, and the double for you Leicester fans is certainly on. On the meeting itself, didn't really think Lynn had much of a shout after Monday's draw, but as they proved at Foxhall a couple of weeks ago, Klindt at reserve can rack up the points, so anything was still possible. On Heat 6, we all see it differently, but after seeing Kerr's pass quite rightly allowed against Dan Thompson at Foxhall (Just Hard Racing)i feel it was the correct decision to exclude Klindt, but again just my opinion, and it had no effect on the overall result whatsoever. But i must admit, even though Lewi Kerr wasn't great on Monday, to leave him out for an old and still injured Scott Nicholls was mind numbing, Scott hasn't even had 1 ride at this level in 12 Months and Lynn throw him in for a Final. Bad choice for me, but again, Kerr might not of made much improvement on the score. Lynn were superb at Foxhall in 2nd Leg, and it's all If's and But's, but if Iversen was riding that night, i'm not so sure Lynn would of got through, especially going on Monday and Thursday's scores, but they did and they totally deserved to go through. Now it's time for teams to complete their League Campaign's and see what the Play Offs Bring, top 4 has been welded in since the 1st week of the season, let's see how the Semi Final's pan out and hope the season finishes on a high with 6 cracking meetings. Then of course, for another day, where will UK Speedway be this time next year with what teams race and in what league. Congrats again to those Lions Riders and Supporters.....

Outside the stadium where there is no dust? There was noticeable dust from heats 1-4, Mr Dickson explained track prep prior to heat 1, then as he said he would watered the track after heat 4, this arguably left it a little too wet, especially in turns 3 & 4. I was stood on turn 1 and didn't get bothered by any dust at all during the whole night and I'm the first to move at the first hint of dust hitting me. The only place I saw any dust was when it was heading towards turn 2 and the pits, so @tellboy could have moved to literally any other part of the stadium to have avoided it. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
The best and most positive aspect of the final was that it took place in July as planned rather than in monsoon conditions in mid October Below par track surfaces, poorish racing and the finalists and winners being significantly influenced by facilties and guest options still an issue when in comes to integrity and the likelihood of enhanced national profile

RyeHouseLucas
I was there last night and can say other than Klindt and maybe Bomber (being generous) the stars were nothing short of embarrasing, however, I think there were a couple harsh calls, particularly Bomber's in Ht 12. The lighting on track I am told is ok for riders but shall we say it’s very challenging for broadcasters and from the bits I have seen appears BSN struggled a little more than normal at Leicester when getting dark even TNT’s new OB provider had issues last week with the latter heats due to the cameras being a distance from track and not great lighting on terraces A few more lighting areas need to be added especially on the bends to help with tv coverage Edited August 1 by flagrag

Who decides if it is 'ok' if this isn't in place?!
