Would he have done it the following year, no but it created a lot of interest. Most GPs now are snore-fests with little unpredictability. Polish averages are the best marker to see how a rider is performing. Unfortunately, there is no new riders under current legislation that can be brought into the series that will improve the quality of the field. It has become a borefest but crap track preparation and a rubbish scoring system do not help.

No challengers to Bartek other than Brady and Dan . The winner of SGP 2 should definitely be promoted to SGP1 the following year. Obviously a good rider to win that can definitely improve at the top level. Every sport has promotion as a prize . Speedway is different obviously. That’s why it’s struggling badly and the gp has become a procession. If it's supposed to be the top 15 riders in the world, then you wouldn't get lots of new faces every year. Doesn't bother me as long as they qualify by right. I don't see why the SGP2 Champ should get a spot, as above GPs should be for the top 15 riders, irrespective of nationality, age, gender etc. just because a rider is the best U21, doesn't mean they are amongst the best 15 seniors. I would be happy with SGP2 Champ getting a spot in the GP Challenge, if they are good enough, they'll qualify.

Vaculik, hmm I think rather than didn't bother he failed to get through the GP Challenge and has had about 6 wildcards now, so is he still trying to make the grade😉 My memory is when the GPs first started the U21 Champ qualified for the following season. I think Crump, Mikael Max & Jesber B Jensen, got in this way. It got dropped as the U21 Champs weren't always GP standard, even when it was a 24 rider field. PersonalResponsibility
Is it time they split out the U21s from the whole SGP/SGP2 structure and replace the SGP2 with something more akin to the SEC? SGP2 then becomes a place where your Huckenbecks, Kvechs, etc. ride. Maybe they can offer a full SGP spot for the winner/top 3 (balanced out by a relegation spot(s) from the SGP). This way, we can find out how good a rider is amongst what would theoretically be the top 16-30 in the world. It also offers a nice route for the likes of Parnitskyi, Przyjemski, etc. to experience a season-long competition without being dumped into the GPs. They could even have it on a Friday night before a GP, offering something meaningful and competitive for fans to make a weekend of it.
