foreverblue Posted yesterday at 06:52 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:52 AM (edited) There will be less discussion in the return leg as there wont be any video evidence to look at. Might just be us Glaswegians are tighter than anyone else or we just have more competition in the offered sports in the area I don't know but I can see why they decided to drop their streaming. The promotion is trying to get a lot of new fans interested in speedway and in my opinion, a big crowd is just as important in retaining them as good racing is. Half of sport is the atmosphere and if a new fan showed up to an empty back straight would they really stick around long? Didn't Glasgow ask for volunteers to run streams a year or so ago but none were forthcoming so the idea got dropped so they weren't against it at all. They aren't against it, but it needs to be volunteers, and a team. It can't just be reliant on one or two people because then it falls apart if they aren't around. It does get talked about from time to time, but I don't think they are going to pay anyone to do it - and they do place a high value on feet through the doors. They want the stadium to look full and have a great atmosphere.

Now if someone as easy going as Alan Dick has decided this course of action I would say there is more to this that we are hearing.. Will we return the favour next week I very much doubt it we are far more professional to stoop to Poole levels.

I seem to recall that Stewart Dickson used to use one of his at Glasgow….but that was a long while ago. Boys do what suits us, not the opposition. Im sure every track does the same. Its called having home advantage.

Disappointing if true but there was a lot of banter between Cami and the set of supporters, things did get a bit heated and security were called. Night night time for me but just to answer any enquiries there was a rather unsavory reaction to Leicester winning the title in 2019 at Ashfield. Yes, a pint was thrown. No, Glasgow didn't win the league. @Gazc Very professional.

LisaColette
Latest... “Poole fans gave our riders, officials and mechanics so much verbal abuse last Wednesday. Now it’s our turn to make Ashfield a wall of noise. “Dayle Wood received a great deal of abuse for some reason and I had disgusting insults hurled at me about my wife. She was also subjected to dreadful abuse in our league fixture at Poole. “Other riders and mechanics were also sworn at in a dreadful manner. “This all happened next to the pits. The clerk of the course was aware of the abuse. We have also sent a letter of complaint to the Speedway Control Bureau. “Any Poole fan or official who dismisses this should be ashamed of themselves. This shouldn’t be happening in speedway. “Fans from other clubs, and even some Poole fans, have commented and got in touch saying they have suffered from the same vile abuse. It needs to be stamped out. “Poole have an outstanding record in the sport but this really tarnishes the reputation of a great club.” https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/brown-turn-up-the-noise/ Maybe the Poole management need to make a statement as everything from Glasgow atm, so would be good to hear from them about what they are planning to do. When you see dan Thompsons father having words with someone in the crowd then there is definitely something amiss,he's one of the nicest easy going blokes you could wish to meet it would take alot for him to lose his rag. Maybe just Maybe there's some truth in what's being said it's not the 1st time this sort of thing has occurred at Poole is it? I recall similar things last season when Oxford were at Wimborne Road No smoke without fire.

I'd be interested to know if they had a better experience this season or not. I did wonder if it was to do with the H14 exclusion or if it happened during the whole meeting? Yes with Vinnie Foord's dad getting involved which I believe is probably a reason why Vinnie is not with us this season. There is always banter when Oxford visit or we visit Oxford and our riders have suffered from Oxford fans too.

I know for a fact the Clerk of the Course informed security and words were had. They stayed pretty close the rest of the meeting. 1
