What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

British Speedway, The only sport in the UK where....

Lower League Clubs try and dictate the future of the Big League Clubs.

Lower League Clubs try and take Money out of Riders Pockets by putting them out of a job at PREM level.

Lower League Clubs try and takeaway from the Fans by replacing Top Quality On Track Battles like Brady Kurtz v Jason Doyle or Dan Bewley v Max Fricke and replacing them with Paul Starke v Simon Lambert or Jack Smith v Alfie Bowtell.

"Big League Clubs"....???

There in those three words is the issue....

There simply isn't  a "Big League"...

Hardly anyone cares....

If every track rode one home meeting in the same week last year in "The Big League", there would barely be 10,000 there collectively watching all the meetings...

It is finished...

Not enough fans will pay circa £25 a pop to watch it...

Lack of forward thinking has been the catalyst for this shambles.Late in the day to try and solve it considering we’re being told they have been discussing the way forward for months behind the scenes.Helmet colour and gardening at starting gate were probably top of the list by the sounds of it.🤔

Sounds like they must seriously have thought that TNT would renew, the writing was on the wall as soon as Eurosport was amalgamated within TNT, they'd already elected to not renew previously. At that point plans for the 2026 should have been made, at least a contingency plan to run with no TV contract.

Of course they care, Just some promoters don't make an effort to promote their business.

They can learn a thing or two from how Chris Louis runs Ipswich.

I agree...

Using riders, and paying them circa six figures, who can earn £400/500k in Poland, is nothing more than an ego trip for promoters in my opinion...

And adds pretty much zero to the attendances at tracks, zero to wider media coverage, and zero to public awareness...

The bottom line is ...

Millions have been spent to regress ..

When will the coffee be smelt?

Don’t be silly they cannot afford coffee😄

No, they don't care...

Ipswich has "decent crowds" (v the rest)...

1500 or so, week after week for a POQ, isn't anything at all to shout about though in the bigger picture of things...

My lad  plays North West Counties Football (semi pro amateurs), often in front of bigger crowds...

And none of then get paid more than £200 per game...

That is the size of UK Speedway...

It is tiny in the grand scheme of things...

Maybe they could but without the others Chris Louis is as unsuccessful as the rest, we need to flourish as a sport not one or two, I was in Manchester at the weekend for a gig and in the town center there is a sports memorabilia shop and they had everything from football to F1, bet you can’t guess what they didn't have ?

Aldi Gold Blend...:D

Far too expensive. They need to start nicking sachets from hotel rooms together with the sugars, tea bags and the occasional hot chocolate for those special and memorable decision days. They could also take the biscuits.😂

They have a stand that’s all, the track has been dug up

Only the top layer of shale was removed, "Forever Panthers Ltd" consortium have always said the track can be resurrected

Is that the latest version of the Good the bad and the Ugly starring David Lammy ?

He would make a perfect advisor for the BSPL.....

In fact. .

Has he been doing it for the last two decades?...:D

Essentially as of course with the haves and have nots. British Speedway simply doesn't have enough people to participate in it, and whilst the powers that be have turned a blind eye. The chickens have now come home to roost. As I see it the only way ahead IS 1 league and blood the youngsters (wherever they are from). Otherwise those that propose that a top league is a must may not have anything to support next season.

Exactly what I mean about learning a thing or two from Chris Louis.

The man does everything right.
