They have deep pockets, various very successful businesses all self made and a long term association and previous investment in Speedway .

My understanding is that they will have an experienced person joining them initially to guide them through first few months but as mentioned before the League format needs to be right for their business plan of watching top class racing at Sheffield

Excellent that all sounds very promising just need to hope now there's some kind of league structure still in place for 2026 as these sound exactly the kind of people we need to attract into promotion.

I'm not going to put you on the spot but I wonder if its the chap who has mountains of cash who backs Ipswich and is also supporting Sheffield from memory.

Lawrence is bringing Buxton back so all his time will be there. So tolley whereever he goes will be going it alone 👀

I think that is the better option for Tolley. Look at the clubs Rogers has been involved with and most have closed down while he was there. No one person can consistently be that unlucky.

He's going to be involved with the return of Cradley in 2027.

This is what he wants but this is either going to happen in 2026 or not at all or at least at its current location and the longer it drags on the less hopeful I am that it’s going to happen

Yes sadly

Laurence and Gareth Rogers were brought up on Christchurch Road in Newport. Both attended St. Julian's School and are these days better known as Newport's general manager and Redcar's media officer respectively.

Laurence takes charge of the Wasps because normal team manager Kevin Brown is unavailable, the same reason Gareth is on duty instead of Redcar's Brian Havlock.

Laurence has held managerial positions with many clubs throughout his speedway career while Gareth has concentrated more on the promotional side of the sport.

If reports are correct it’s unlikely that you will see Nigel and Lawrence working together again as the closure of Birmingham has not gone that well with one person not being honest with their plans for their own personal benefit
