According to Speedway riders, history & results at least 358 riders were used across both leagues in 1970. I also took a look at my first season 1981. 36 teams began the season and at least 374 riders were used in official fixtures. I've also identified at least 100 riders who rode in second halves and junior league matches without making an 'official' appearance. Each round is heavily featured on the BBC Sport page with live updates, commentary etc. Every game is also streamed live for free on YouTube.
