Ace is a Glasgow asset, and I wonder if we might be thinking double Pijper at reserve, with wee brother Steyn, that might swing the deal.

Assets are thing of the past from what I’ve heard.

Apologies just noticed the replies confirming this.

Would you want Ace Pijper if he started in the top 5, not reserve?

Chris Harris (8.90)
Kyle Howarth (7.92)
Leon Flint (6.95)
Nick Morris (6.86)
Ace Pijper (4.04)
Freddy Hodder (2.63)
Jack Smith (2.61)

* averages aren't official

I quite like it!

That's a decent top 4.

I'd prefer Ace at No6 if possible, I don't think that bottom three would score much away from home.

My thinking, rightly or wrongly, is Ace at No6 and almost having a sacrificial No7 who can chip in 4ish points at home and 2ish points away.

If Ace is at 6, won't have such a strong top 4 obviously. Btw I wouldn't call a rider who can score 4 at home & 2 away a "sacrificial no 7" that sounds like a valuable member of the team.

Aye, fair enough, I know you got my gist.

As I've said earlier, this is a team I'd like, though I'd be a bit sad for the teams that lost some of these riders... but here's a 7 I like anyhow.

Chris Harris (9.13)
Jody Scott (3.92)
Leon Flint (7.13)
Tate Zischke (5.76)
Kyle Howarth (8.12)
Sam Hagon (3.57)
Jordy Loftus (2.19)

Total: 39.82 (but will be lower with 2.5% reductions, which I couldn't be bothered to calculate as this team is below 40 anyway).

Will Lee Complin return?

Never paid his fine and sold all his bikes and kit.

He pretty much single handedly ruined our 2024 season. Can't see the promotion touching this druggie with a barge pole

Is Villads Nagel a definite no?

Also does the -2.5% British reduction count for all British rider?

1. Chris Harris 8.90

2. Jody Scott 3.48

3. Villads Nagel 7.39

4. Leon Flint 6.95

5. Dan Thompson 8.52

6. Jordy Loftus 2.00

7. Freddy Hodder 2.63

39.87

Can't see Nagel being back. Shame as what a talent, and exciting to watch,  but too many foreign commitments meant that he missed far too many meetings (not counted, but it felt like he missed half of them) and that's likely to be the same again next year

As has been said before he didn't have too many fixture clashes when he signed. He missed some additional meetings because of being called up to ride at U21 level, both his polish team and Glasgow having to race on days that weren't in the original fixture list and injury. If the league set up is the same next year, the fixtures could be arranged to minimise clashes e.g race Poole and Oxford on Wednesdays during the Danish break. He is a brilliant talent and the type of rider that puts bums on seats. I'm sure all Glasgow fans would want him back.

It hasn't been, but I've heard it in other places too, so it seems it's been agreed in principle in the background.

So more watering down FFS

2,5% discount applies to all Brits for team building purposes except those on 2.00.

I'm sure everyone enjoyed watching Nagel when he was actually here (I certainly did). Just as I'm sure that no one particularly enjoyed watching Hook, Lambert, MPT, or Thomsen scoring hee haw between them in his absence. The difference between having and not having Nagel was huge (ignore the play off semi when he clearly wasn't fit). Too big.

I'm confused by your argument about how few fixture clashes there were when we signed him, cause there were plenty when it actually came to racing. So saying we could avoid clashes next year doesn't make sense because we thought we had done that this year. His other fixtures will take priority over Tigers matches, and a rider as good, and as exciting, as Nagel will be in high demand in Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, U19, U21, U23 and the other international events that the big guns swerve like euro pairs etc.

I would love to see him race regularly in the UK, and for the Tigers in particular but with so many commitments abroad, that take precedence over Tigers matches, I cannot see Glasgow resigning him. It's a pity cause he is exciting to watch, he would up his average and he is a future superstar but I would not sign him unless he cuts down on other commitments (although I suspect that the UK is most likely where he will cut back).

If he does come back then I'll look forward to watching him race, but in reality I can't see it happening.
